This RP has generated quite a bit of interest! If there's anything I can do to make things easier for people - like a list of players and ships, or something, please let me know.
Yeah, I know what faction I want to pull from, I'm just trying to decide what sort of roles we need filled for our rag tag fleet. Any suggestions?
I've repeated this here so that the group at large may answer it. It's the players' party, after all. I do have some thoughts farther down, however.
I'll add that to the giant list of things that the Oath needs fixed. Hopefully they manage to replace it without it exploding and taking what remains of the ship with it.
But explosions look so pretty!

[@TheCrash20][@Sophrus] This is a fun question, but either of your solutions seems fine to me. If you want an official decision, then I tend to agree with Sophrus - the closer to actual EVE gameplay, the better. Creativity tends to blossom most when your options are constrained. If you don't want an official decision, work it out amongst yourselves. I'll jump in if I disagree. Although I wouldn't worry overmuch with specific FTL speeds. I don't want the RP to slow down too much. Sure, it matters which ship is relatively faster, and whether your FTL looks like a discontinuous jump or steady speed. But, ships should arrive when there's the most narrative potential (whether that's politely on time, the eleventh hour, or days too late). I mean, there's not even a decent map of the Stargate universe lying around anywhere, so we can't worry about proper speed and distance.
[@Flamelord] Right now, we have a stealthy SpecOps ship (Mataus), a Carrier/Transport (Thecrash20), a freighter/transport (Clocktowerechos), an industrial ship (Sophrus), a general-purpose combat capital ship (Flamelord), a robust, advanced cruiser (Dnafein), and a hardy, tough cruiser (DocTachyon). If this were a classic RPG, that covers, roughly, stealth, DPS, ??? (...buffer?), healer, fighter, DPS, and a tank. I'd say you're currently missing a face, a smart guy, a leader, and something gimmicky. A ship of diplomats or scientists wouldn't go amiss, although I know there's a Star Trek ship in the works.... And I'm not sure you can plan to be "the leader" before the RP even starts, anyway.
[@NanoFreakV2] Sure! Feel free to polish up the Helios sheet. You'll probably have to adapt some of the categories listed in that rp's character sheet to this one, but it should be nearly the same.
[@Retro] Absolutely! Mataus did an OC ship, too.
[@DocTachyon] I like the direction. I think we're lacking in a Tank, so that's probably helpful.
Gosh, I sure hope @ mentions work in hiders.
