Kai struggled to keep pace, dexterity and confidence could only carry you so far when the fuel that kept you going was a mixture of pride, anger, and the strangest bit of shame. Keeping up with the other figure was not in the cards but Kai had come too far to quit and admit he was completely unprepared. With the first platform at his feet the young boy took the chance to rest and view his surroundings. The platform had a hole in it, a scorch mark marring it, and little else. Sturdy as it seemed he was no expert as to how long that would last with what little luck he had. Putting on foot over the other a few minutes after touching sown, his pace descending into the abyss was slowed as the sun set and visibility shrank. Every footfall came with caution, the hooks attached to the walls were ever shorter spaced as a necessity to speed. "Father, guide me." The words flew into the night air, a whispered prayer for comfort. Kai knew the risks of the Abyss but could not ignore his goal. Finding the girl would be the first step to conquering this place.
