A more appropriate allocation for the Blackened would be for him to put him on a team bent for mass destruction of big targets. If you want help with staying in this group from my end the best would be to say that Shade Walker requested that he stayed to help distract big name heroes. But he also has Captain East with his man of tomorrow quirk makes him basically gold age superman (the original superman not silver age when he started to get ridiculous).
