The bingal hold a majority of the officer ranks not due to favoritism but because they have been serving under Subutai since before the first battle of Saraat. |Geographical Location of CLIQUE:| The 12[sup]th[/sup] is taking part in the Delsai offensive. |Cities:| They are currently garrisoning the city of Cho and a few of the surrounding towns. Cho is a moderate industrial city of roughly 140,000 citizens. The city's major industry is meat. Massive slaughter houses dominate the the northern quarter. Since taking the city the 12th have been purging royalist influence and putting power back into the hands of local bingal leaders. Thus far the region has been welcoming to Subutai and his men, celebrating an army lead by bingal officers as a type of folk heroes. He tends to keep his own counsel when dealing with the other leaders of his faction, preferring to listen carefully to all the arguments presented before acting. When he is roused however those around him learn an interesting fact. The First Dragon has no middle gears, going straight from taciturn to apoplectic rage with almost no warning. Subutai holds great stock in loyalty. Giving it unconditionally to those who he respects and have helped him as well as expecting it in return. There are few depths he will not go to help his friends. He also tends to carry his weight in grudges against those he feels have wronged him or the cause. On the battlefield he is impetuous and acts with dash and elan. Boisterously shouting orders while cutting a swathe through the enemy. His willingness to wade into battle borders on the worst sort of bloodlust and his advisors and honor guard do their best to protect him from his own worst tendancies. |His/Her Virtue: | Daring Commander- Subutai leads his dragons from the front and will never ask them to preform a task that he would not be willing to do himself. |His/Her Virtue: | Straitforward- Subutai has no time for subterfuge, flattery or any nonsense of the like. His word is his bond and the terms he offers are terms he'll stand by. |His/Her Sin:| The Dragon's Ire- While brave and honest the first dragon is also brutal and unforgiving. Dealing harsh punishments to men who fail him and exacting terrible costs upon his enemies. |History and Background:| Born to humble herders in Delsai, Subutai left his family to seek adventure and fortune at the age of 18. What he got was life in the imperial army. He would quickly find himself frustrated by the hidebound manner the army operated, for despite several commendations for valor he never was allowed above the rank of sergeant. He left the army after the emperor's death, choosing not to join the army of the new republic. He returned home for a short time until he learned of the white-shirt uprising. He began recruiting in his home province, building a core of former soldiers and youths drunk on tales of glory. They would arrive just in time for the defeat at Saraat. Though he would avoid capture his volunteer force was decimated. They began a guerrilla action in the region around the city. When the Lavanian forces stormed the city Subutai and his men joined the fray providing what intel they could to their unexpected allies. During the winter reformation Subutai recruited heavily and used all the favor he had gained for his aid in the rescue of Yesui to make sure his men received the very best equipment he could cajole from their new benefactors. When the Delsai offensive was announced Subutai was among the first to volunteer to take part. He believes that given the right push his people will rise up and stand for the cause. |Armed Forces:| The 12[sup]th[/sup] National Army - The White Dragons Duty Strength 15,000 men Drake Infantry Regiments 10,000 men Infantry Uniform Officer's Uniform The white dragons have been completely reborn since the the storming of Saraat. With the superior equipment provided by Lavania and the influx of Gailzri volunteers what started as light infantry force has evolved into a heavy assault army. Hunter Scout Battalions 1,500 men Trained in fieldcraft and marsksmanship the Hunters are surgical scalpel to the hammer that is the 12th Army. With some help from the Lavanians he has made those words truth. These dragons of steel and steam will break the royalist cavalry in their maws. The Iron Dragons 2,500 men These loyal warriors are all that remains of the troops that first followed Subutai to join the nationalist cause. Having survived the crucible of the first battle of Saraat and redeemed themselves in the second, they have earned their veteran status with blood and sorrow. Given Iron Guard surplus equipment. As a mechanized infantry assault force the Iron Dragons represent the very best of what the 12th army can put on the field.
Lavanian Support Forces 1,000 men + Advisors The Lavanians attached to the 12[sup]th[/sup] army have so far been content to act in in advisory role and have spread their NCOs throughout the various units and the combat detachment has yet to enter the fray in earnest. |Their finest hour:| Subutai and his men had spent nearly a month fighting. Ever since the disaster of Saraat they'd been killing royalists at every opportunity. Their insurgent tactics had at first been focused on survival, but when the interrogation of a young royalist officer had revealed that Yesui Olya was alive though a prisoner. Subutai's focus had shifted with that revelation. Intelligence became the Dragon's goal. And after nearly a month of hunting they'd finally rung the last pieces of the puzzle from a now dead captain. It would take another week to prepare the rescue attempt. They would only be able to get Yesui out if at all, simply didn't have the manpower to free all their comrades. To be honest he wasn't sure he could manage freeing the Great Leader with what was at his disposal. Or keep her out of enemy hands if they succeeded. Subutai sat in the command tent pouring over the intel for their rescue attempt, growing increasingly frustrated when one of his scouts came rushing in. "Commander!, Command-erk" Subutai had his hand clenched around the man's throat. "What?" The word was quiet but full of menace. He loosened his grip slightly so he could speak. "Th- The Lavanians are attacking Saraat Sir! They're openly announcing their support of the cause!" Subutai released the man immediately and started roaring commands. "Get everyone up we're moving to support the Lavanian troops. Get me our best riders we nee to link up their command elements right away. They'll need Yesui's location if they're going to get to her before the royalist kill her to take her off the board. Move!" |Their darkest hour:| +Outside Saraat+ The shelling had gone on for what seemed like an eternity. Everywhere they looked all the white dragons could see was smoke and flying sand. Subutai had taken a piece of shrapnel to his left leg, nothing fatal but enough to slow him down and hinder his ability to fight properly. Then the Royalist shock troops came charging through the smoke, bayonets fixed and firing as they came. Tuan took a bullet through the nose turning her face to a bloody pulp as she fell. Gio and Fia were surrounded and stabbed to death. Subutai leapt to his feet sword in one hand and his pistol barking in the other. After an hour of brutal fighting they'd pushed the royalists back at terrible cost. A cheer rose from the Dragons only to have strangled moments later when the wind picked up and smoke of battle was cleared. Another wave of royalists were moving to engage and all around their fellow white-shirts were being overrun. Subutai cursed the ignominy of it. He'd lead his friends into the nationalist movement just in time to see it snuffed out. Choking back his rage he shouted to what was left. "We've been beaten here, but we are not lost. Retreat, retreat and know we will return to the fight once more." They lost even more in the fighting withdrawal, those that survived the battle would suffer instead at the cruel hands of the desert. |Other Important People inside the Clique:| Xiao Feng, Captain of the Iron Dragons (32)- Xiao and Subutai were sergeants together in the same regiment of the Imperial Army. Having saved eachother's lives on numerous occasions. Jovial and gregarious to Subutai's reserved brooding they are none the less life-long friends. When Subutai formed the White Dragons he reached out to Xiao to be his second in command. Now Xiao commands the elite Iron Dragons and does his best to watch his friend's back. Dia Gao, Drake Infantry Lieutenant (23)- An extremely motivated young woman. Dia has every intention to earn a place in the Iron Dragons by proving her valor in the Delsai campaign. Sankei Kai, Walker Company Captain (27)- Sankei is head and shoulders the best walker commander in the 12[sup]th[/sup] Army. His ability to push his machines well past their specifications and his knack for targeting would have seen him in good stead with lesser vehicles. With the advanced Lavanian walkers he seems nigh untouchable. A fact that has given rise to a cocky streak a mile wide and disregard for authority that is bound to cause problems going forward. Antonio Faberio, Lavanain Major (41)- The lead advisor assigned to the 12th. Antonio is a fussy man with a fussy little mustache that seems constantly under foot. While his advice is rarely bad it is often delivered in the most condescending manner possible.
