Their promotion was quick, as the order was intercepted by Chief King from the highest man in the city, Mayor Howard Johnson, who wanted to commend them on their incredible agility and ability to capture Tony Marconi alive. As Tony rotted in prison, the clock ticked to 8:55 AM at the station, Chief King having called everyone down to the his office in order to inform them about several important people in the district and a case that had erupted within the stock market. Detective David Jones was one of the first to enter this hallowed chief's headquarters, having just pulled a very early morning shift at the station starting at 5 AM in order to save face and obtain some extra hours. The Chief was already standing at his mahogany desk, where a telephone sat upon it with numbers of various top dogs in the city, some of which he didn't even recognize. A large window stood behind Chief King's desk and beside his collection of old case novels, while a TV stood upon the wall that was occasionally used to intercept important video-based messages. Nevertheless, the Chief was in his usual mood despite the team's promotion, with a apathetic look in his eyes that brimmed with seriousness. Jones took one of the faux leather chairs in the room and sat upon it, waiting for the others to arrive. He remembered that time when Tony was sent to prison, after his motive was properly revealed. That long laugh, followed by the mobster pulling a gun on him and his fellow officers was a last-ditch effort to save his own skin, but Jones was able to tackle Tony and bring him down. It was a shame that he never fired off a shot, as he would have received a life sentence for sure. If it wasn't obvious enough, Jones had a bit of a grudge against the boss for teasing him all of the time about how he wasn't going to be captured, but he was now securely behind bars. King had yet to begin speaking, watching the clock as the seconds ticked by until 9:05 AM arrived.
