The Premise
I'd like to propose a casual level RP that uses some very rudimentary dice rolling game mechanics. In short, players/writers would create a warrior(s) or choose one from actual history or fiction. I'm also not against players having multiple characters. I know I would be controlling various NPCs. So basically, we have an antagonist that has brought together thousands of warriors from across space and time and trapped them on a giant island, complete with an invisible force field all around it. Everyone's power and equipment have been scaled down (and in some cases up) so that they are all on an even playing field (at least to start). The island is complete with different terrains as well as a few small settlements and one large city. Every single person that is on this island is a warrior, and some have been here for a LONG time. In the middle of that city, there is a giant stadium. Warriors can battle there in order to earn money and jewels. Money is only for fluff (i.e. The more money you have, the more your character can buy things in and around the city. This includes buying a better house, eating fancy food, or obtaining new clothes.) The jewels however can actually be traded to increase your character's power (i.e. With jewels, you can buy weapons/equipment or magically enhance your power level.) The story of this RP will be broken down into three easily understandable parts. 1) Arrival and Adjustment: This is where your characters will explore the island and learn about its already established culture. You can tackle this however you like. Maybe your character is thrilled to be here. Maybe your character is only looking for a way home. Maybe your character is taking it all in stride. 2) The Great Tournament: This is where the mysterious entity behind all of this will reveal themself. They will explain the rules of a grand tournament, the reason why they have brought everyone here. You can then choose to participate or try to rebel. 3) The War: Sometime during the tournament or shortly following, something will happen that will make this all powerful antagonist vulnerable to attack. Defeating the antagonist is the only way to go back home, but there are also those that have embraced life here that will fight on the antagonist's behalf. This creates two factions, and the real war can begin. The formula for battling will be based off five things: your character's Power/Strength, Intelligence/Tact, Agility/Technique, Specialties/Affinities, and Weaknesses. I won't go into full detail with all this now. First I'd like to know if anyone is interested.
How about it?
