She'd say they were trying, of course, but it didn't mean that teaching them wasn't an annoyance. Meowka was very easily distracted by anything that moved - there were a couple times she was caught staring at birds rather than the lesson at hand. And continuing the act of 'learning' from Avaline was in as of itself a challenge, especially when what she showed off was incorrect or messy. If Sel had to judge though, she'd say that if they went home and continued to practice they could learn the alphabet, the sound each letter made, and how to write each letter by the end of the week. The mage looked upwards towards Luna, nodding in agreement with Miss Katherine as the teacher clarified the situation. Though the noble found herself raising an eyebrow as Eith was mentioned. "I did, however I concluded that it was mostly due to her ravenous hunger taking over the majority of her brain functions. I'll see what I can do to help though." Of course it had become apparent a bit later that Eith had something else going on, but Sel's life had been really occupied with her own familiar and her games. She'd been hoping to talk with Sly about her dream earlier, but it seemed her familiar was otherwise occupied. "And Sly, I know you're always hungry for attention but there's plenty of me to go around, no need to be so jealous! But I didn't think you'd stoop to begging for affection from just anyone ... but I guess my little familiar was feeling lonely ..." In spite of herself Sel was more than a little irritated by the fox's suggestion of disloyalty, but she hoped that teasing the fox in turn would lighten the mood.
Meowka found herself dealing with a small headache from how hard she'd been trying to learn the alphabet. She'd made some progress but nothing exceptional or even normal based on the way her teacher acted - it was quickly made apparent to the cat that she was in fact an idiot. This material honestly frustrated the prowler of the night, and it wouldn't be hard for Katherine to tell both through the bond and simply based on the girl's posture. Being told she was a 'tiny black cat' was irritating ... but Katherine saying good job cheered her up more than she cared to admit. She didn't enjoy learning these things in spite of that, but the cat picked up the materials Sel had left her with the full intent of practicing them at home, even if it was just for a bit. She was sure one of the dolls could try and help her out. If she'd learned one thing however it was how little she knew or understood in the area of academics. Stealing from a stall, stalking prey, eavesdropping ... she was talented at that, but this was an entirely different animal. For a brief moment the cat glared at the overly familiar fox cradling herself in Kat's arms for a couple seconds with obvious envy before standing up and shaking her head. She'd been a literal pet peeve for her mage earlier in the headmistress' office, and now that she'd had a chance to calm down a bit more she decided she'd be a good familiar for the rest of the day. "Um, Mistress Katherine ..." Meowka looked down at her feet a bit, obviously a little embarrassed that she was letting her pride be crushed just a bit in her current act of penance. "... I probably won't be much help with whatever you're doing, so I was thinking of going home. Is there anything else you'd like me to do ...?" Aetheria put her hands on Kouze's shoulders and closed her eyes, focusing. She could detect the other soul in there, it was rather obvious. But despite the power she'd dumped into it the damn thing still seemed to be resting. It took only a couple minutes before the nurse backed off and indicated that the woman could put her shirt back on. Honestly, this was a bit outside of her area of expertise. She'd be busy dealing with a dragon today (though she supposed an aide could help her handle that) and the ritual with the hellhound. For now though, the white mage had a bit of advice on how to cure this. "Alright, there's two ways to cure this. You've probably come to the conclusion that my magic isn't helping a lot, and you'd be correct. The first way would be to talk to the Headmistress - she'd probably be able to help you with your condition, but I'm guessing you haven't gone to speak with her for a reason." The white mage hesitated for a moment, looking over the girl in front of her and speaking after an obvious moment of hesitation. "The second way ... the second way involves a pancea. The headmistress' familiar - Fia - is a phoenix. Phoenix tears are a panacea for all wounds, maladies, and any other troubles. Even curses or magics specifically intended to block restoration are undone by them ... even if placed by a god. I think they'd wake this soul right up to, unless my research is wrong." The woman let out a sigh. "The girl is in her early teens - has deep, crimson hair. A little quiet, skittish even. Easily frightened. You can't miss her. I'm not advocating you do anything that'd make the headmistress angry or that would stain your honor, but you could try talking to her." Fia looked down a bit, frowning. "Ritsa ... it is fall and the water is cold ... I'm a fire creature ..." She hoped that made it rather obvious that she wasn't too interested in the idea of going out for a swim. "... I could watch, though ..." The mistress of the catboy blushed a bit, and frowned at the pink haired woman. It had become apparent that the ... whatever she was, had little knowledge of what she was talking about. Had she really just been playing around? "I-I'm his mage! It's my job to protect him!" It was clear she was a little frustrated and perhaps being overprotective. But she'd only hopped up to defend Bastien because she detected fear. She gave a glance over to Bastien, as if asking him to explain himself. "Mistress Josy, I um ..." His mage looked at him with a more calm face, hoping that'd goad him into speaking honestly. It was obvious the boy was a little embarrassed by his unnecessary fear and that his master had hopped in to defend him. "S-she had a l-lot of teeth. And h-her eyes were really dark and um ... evil looking - and the ground." He pointed over to the small divot the hydra had made in her rather enthusiastic leap. Josette sighed. She understood the cat's skittishness, but if the hydra had really been in control then her cat hadn't been in any danger. The noble looked at the pink haired girl who seemed to be in charge, and hadn't exactly denied being the creature's mistress. She took a couple of breaths, trying to make herself calm down. She forced herself to stick out a hand. "Bastien, go chase that creature. You aren't going to let this girl insult you like that, are you?" The cat looked up a little concerned, but a dismissive shove sent Bastien over to the two girls. As for Josette, she looked over at the pink haired girl and extended a hand. It was rather apparent that the pink haired girl's intent of being impish had failed. "I-I'm Josette by the way. I come from a family of nobles to the south of here." The boy on the bench and the dog girl looked over, but the noble woman waved at them to indicate they should remain sitting. "I apologize if I panicked a bit, but the girl made it difficult to read her intentions. I mean ..." She gestured towards the hole in the ground. "... we didn't know how much self control she had, and I didn't want to risk my familiar getting injured. Surely you'd understand how worrying it if let's say something scared the crimson haired girl over there? You can't tell me you'd just remain sitting." Between the scary lizard girl and the crimson haired one, it was rather obvious which one was the more vulnerable target. Apparently Bastien had the same though again, because as the crimson haired girl prepared to make another comment to the lizard friend after taking a small talking break she'd instead let out a yelp - she slammed into the ground, having been pulled through the cracks by Bastien. The cat seemed a little worried as he glanced over at the hydra, but noticed that out of the corner of his eye that his dog-girl friend was ready to hop in on his side if things went south. It gave him a bit of courage.
Otille Kohler
Otille found herself sitting by the fountain in her Sunday best, hair running in a braid down her back with a cute bow accentuating it. It wasn't anything fancy that a noble would wear ... but it would be rather apparent to any passerby that the farmer had done her best to dress to impress. She'd headed over as soon as she'd finished milking Cocoa. Honestly ... the entire process had been rather mundane. Aside from Cocoa making some different noises as the pressure was released, the results were the same. She had a bucket of milk, her hands were a little more sore, and her livestock was happily mooing again. She felt a little sorry for the cow, but Cocoa would have to learn that she couldn't panic and cause a ruckus anytime someone went missing. Otherwise she'd be scrubbing floors for Aetheria quite a bit. Slightly nervous about the date, the girl looked around and tried to see when her knight would come to whisk her away.
