This has turned Sofia into a bit of a rebel, very often sneaking around and not listening to most people. And yet for someone of such a rebellious nature, Sofia is surprisingly obedient to her family; perhaps because she knows how easily they could throw her out, or because she knows how little she means to them. Despite all that, Sofia has always wished to become a fully fledged mage. She never got the training and guidance that her sister had, but the house was filled with books and tomes that Sofia could learn a lot from. Sofia is also incredibly passionate about the other things she likes. Fashion for instance is something she can fuzz over for days, without even once finding it boring. Maybe it is a good thing then, that she doesn’t actually like a whole lot of things. Another thing she also reeks off is confidence and bravery, not a single thing scares her, and if she felt it was the right thing to do, you can bet your ass, she’ll do it tenfold. And even if it seems impossible, Sofia’s confidence doesn’t allow her to hold back because her determination supports her bravery at every step. Now to some this might be seen as arrogance (in some cases it straight up is), but at least she never regrets holding back, or not doing anything at all. Bio: The Whitehall family. Not your most prestigious, and definitely not your most powerful family. They can't have been said to have been particularly noteworthy, either; they might have been one of the greatest Rune using families with the Mage's Association, but Mages always had a kind of stigma when it came to Rune users, as though they weren't real Mages. So, even from the advent of the family, they wished to be recognised properly. At the time when their Crest was only in its third generation, the efforts of the family finally paid off. They excavated Runes. Not just any Runes, though: Ancient Runes, created by the Giants of Scandinavia during the times long past, beholding power unmatched in Modern Magecraft. Using them as a fast pass, the family quickly grew to be one of the more noteworthy groups within the Association. Holders of over a dozen Ancient Runes, of more variety and number than had ever been held by a single family. From that point on, the Whitehall family became recognised as the greatest Rune-focused family, maybe in the world. Fast forward, to 1867. The Crest was in its fifth generation, and the family was becoming greedy. They wanted to produce more powerful offspring who, with the power of the Ancient Runes at their backs, could challenge the Three Great Families of Fuyuki, and more. They sought to, artificially, through the use of Magecraft, replicate the speciality of the Edelfelt line, and give their own family the Ore Scale Sorcery Trait. A ritual was set up to ensure twins would be birthed, and to manipulate the fetus's so their Magic Circuits would be some of the finest ever seen in the world. Except the ritual didn't quite work as planned. Instead of both children being born with vast numbers of circuits, all with impeccable quality, one was born defective, with so few Circuits they could barely be called a Mage, and a child with so many Circuits their sheer output would no doubt lead them to rank highly in the world. The more powerful was named Serafina, whilst the weaker was named Sofia. These names would soon come to represent the way the two were treated within the family. Sofia, weaker, more fragile, was nigh abandoned by the family, only allowed to live and study under their roof as to not damage the Whitehall name, and to provide Sera with someone to play with. On multiple occasions did the family attempt to have Sofia adopted, but no family wished for a defective Mage. Therefore, she was allowed to remain, but barely educated in the families art. Sofia’s sister Serafina was pretty much the only one to ever interact with her, and Sofia always loved the time they spend together; either playing or training. But Sera was very often practicing and studying, leaving Sofia on her own with no one to care for her. She would often get books from the library to train and study, hastily returning them before people needed the books for themselves. It was not a pleasant life, and Sofia thought of running away many times, but she always feared being on her own, so she stayed with her sister; up until this day. The Whitehall family owns many books regarding many different kinds of magecraft, including but not limited to: Formalcraft, Jewel magecraft, Runecraft, Material transformation, Alchemy, and broomflight; all of which Sofia has dabbled in and learned a few tricks. Pure Eyes of the moon: Sofia’s eyes have the ability to observe the flow of prana through the world. She can see the amount of mana stored in people as well as all leylines. The higher the concentration of mana, the brighter it appears to her. While her normal eye color is grey, when she activates her ability, her eyes turn a bright shade of Aqua. She has a pair of fashionable mystic eye killer shades to go along with the eyes. Crest: None Weapons: Mystic code 1: A white, jewelled bandanna, engraved with varying runes. The first of these runes are Uruz, ᚢ, and Eihwaz, ᛇ. The Uruz rune provides a great boost in strength, agility, and endurance whenever they are touching Sofia's face, and activated. The Eihwaz rune grants a large boost in endurance, granting her skin the same defensive properties as though she were wearing a full suit of leather armour. However, those are not the only runes: the rune chain of Uruz Eihwaz Ingwaz Merkstave Algiz Ehwaz ᚢᛇᛜ/ᛉᛖ, is inscribed near the centre. When the bandanna is pulled down, so that the runes touches Sofia's throat, they can be activated to grant the effect of "Unrelenting Force" - a destructive blast of energy converted from a simple shout, capable of staggering even sturdy opponents, or blowing away weaker foes. Mystic code 2: A healing Sol stone slotted into a talisman with a Algiz Isa Laguz Reversed, ᛉᛁ/ᛚ, Rune chain, which grants protection from fire. Mystic code 3: A dagger with a unique blade. Through the magecraft: flash air, whenever the blade is stuck into anything, it can surface from anywhere else as long as it is within a range of 10 meters. So as an example: if you are in a room with 4 walls and stick the blade into one wall, instead of the blade bouncing off, it emerges from another wall. Alignment: Chaotic good Personality: Yamato is a bit of an oddball. She is brash and bold, has a bit of an ego, and often wants things that are not hers. Yet while she sometimes has difficulty keeping her temper in check, she is kind and loyal. All she ever wanted in life was to be accepted by her father and everyone else, and to that end she did a great many things. Her wish is to remove any sign of the gods from the world, not the gods themselves, but rather all knowledge and written pieces about any god will be removed from the world; setting mankind free from the shackles of religion. They will no longer revere the gods, obey the gods, blaspheme the gods, or fear the gods. They will finally be truly free. Bio: Princess Yamato, sister of Ōsu, daughter of emperor keikō. Although the records don’t explain why, at a young age, Yamato slew her elder brother Ōsu. This caused her father, the emperor Keikō, to fear Yamato’s brutal temperament, so to keep her at a distance, the emperor sent Yamato to the land of Kumaso. However, While Yamato resided there, she succeeded in defeating many of the enemies of her father, in one case even by cross-dressing as a butler attendant at a drinking party. One of the enemies she defeated praised her and gave her the title Yamato Takeru, meaning ‘The Brave of Yamato’; and yet Emperor Keikō's mind was unchanged. Keikō, in an attempt to sent Yamato away again, let her go to the east, whose people disobeyed the imperial court. On the way there, Yamato met his aunt Princess Yamato-hime-no-mikoto, the highest priestess of Amaterasu at the Ise Grand Shrine and grieved, "my father wishes I would die." she said. And princess Yamato-hime showed her compassion and gave her a legendary sword named Kusanagi, which Susanoo, the brother god of Amaterasu, found in the body of the eight-headed great serpent, Yamata no Orochi after slaying it. With her new sword, Yamato then went further east, where she found her lover. Yamato was lured onto an open grassland during a hunting expedition by a treacherous warlord. The lord had fiery arrows loosed to ignite the grass and trap Yamato in the field so that she would burn to death. The lord also killed the warrior's horse to prevent her escape. Desperately, Yamato used Kusanagi to cut back the grass and remove fuel from the fire, but in doing so, she discovered that the sword enabled her to control the wind and cause it to move in the direction of her swing. Taking advantage of this magic, Yamato used her other gift, fire strikers, to enlarge the fire in the direction of the lord and his men, and she used the winds controlled by the sword to sweep the blaze toward them, and in triumph, she met her lover. Eventually, Yamato married and later fell in battle with a monster, after ignoring her husband's advice to take the sword with her, and lost her husband during a storm when he sacrificed himself to soothe the anger of the sea god. Yamato died in the 43rd year of Emperor Keiko's reign. The possessions of the dead princess were gathered together along with the sword Kusanagi. She is believed to have died somewhere in Ise Province. According to the legend, after death her soul turned into a great white bird and flew away. This weapon, commonly referred to simply as Kusanagi , is one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan, and is said to represent the virtue of valor. The two other objects of the regalia, as a matter of interest, are the Yata-no-Kagami (a mirror said to represent wisdom) and the Yasakani-no-Magatama (a jewel said to represent benevolence). Due to its royal connection, the Kusanagi has sometimes been compared to Excalibur. The sword is able to control the wind much in the same way that invisible air works. It can function as a barrier of wind to put around things, it can redirect ranged attacks, remove air resistance to move faster or give short speed bursts, sharpen the sword with the wind, and even turn yourself and the sword invisible. When pronouncing it’s true name, the true power of kusanagi shines through, focusing the wind and power into the sword to release a divine wind attack slash. (equivalent to the one that destroyed the mongolian fleet invading japan) The sword also has an attribute that causes mental interference to all who witness it(except for the wielder) for as long as they witness it. It causes minor confusion that messes with mental skills like eye of the true mind and instinct, lowering the potency of those skills. However, the invisibility created from the wind makes it impossible to witness it, so for it to work, Kusanagi would have to be revealed. Description: The hood of Kismet does not conceal one’s presence, but rather makes one's presence fail to register as hostile. When wearing it, this robe causes others to misunderstand one's status, including mistaking one for a kind neighbor, a harmless pebble, or as the most beloved person; it can even counter the skill: true name discernment. When a person finds out what the hood is capable of, it will no longer hide its presence to those that know. In the legend, it was said that Yamato received a robe from a priestess that was said to bring much luck. one time she used the robe as apparel to hide his identity, and because of the luck it worked flawlessly. she’s even used it to appear as the opposite gender by just changing her hair while wearing the hood. Because of this, the hood passively also raises it’s wearer’s luck stat by a rank.
