Once she knew she wouldn't fall, she sighed in relief, though admittedly she was glad Kai was his usual self. She nodded in agreement, her heart melting as he mentioned her and earning him a matching grin on her part. For a moment, she wondered if she should prod him for a response to her previous statement, but she figured it'd be too embarrassing to ask. No way was she going to bring up her ulterior motives, either. If he wanted to move on, so be it.

But as fun as Kai's plans sound, she felt like doing something different. For the first time in her life, the water felt dangerous, especially after what Kai said.
