Seeing Kai's expression stilled her heart, if only for a moment. His promise was sincere, this much she was sure of, and she found herself nodding in confirmation. One of the shadows leapt forward, and Kai was prepared for it, taking a swing. To both their surprises, the Struggle bat would go right through the monster, striking Kai. It sent him back, and while he didn't seem hurt, he definitely seemed shocked. How could this be? She was so sure he wouldn't miss--Struggle was probably second to Kai's surfing talents--but those monsters seemed to defy all logic. Now what? Clasping her hands together, she nervously got closer to Kai out of instinct as she looked at the surrounding shadows stare at them. As her hand touched his back, she realized there was a bright light glowing from his chest. Blinking in confusion, she let out a small cry as the light surged around him, blinding them both. And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. Her eyes widened as she noticed a change with Kai. "That's...!"
