Command Seal: The first seal is a jagged line resting horizontally, upon which the second seal sits upon which appears to be a tablet or archway with an opening near the top where the third seal, a lightning bolt, appears to be splitting apart. Personality: A blunt individual who has an odd habit of starting and abandoning collections at a whims notice. Forceful and pushy, often times he would attempt to acquire objects of desire with force and intimidation. More than one occasion has lead to a solid thrashing, landing Hamel a stay in an infirmary. To the uninitiated, he hardly seems to have enough focus to dedicate to a task such as continuing the Astrologia magecraft, but Hamel himself recognizes his passing fancies as foolish, but still pursues them as a hobby. When it comes to his dedication towards the continuation and advancement of his craft, it is as solid as any magus worth their name may be. Bio: The culmination of 17 generations of the Astrologia, an old family situated near the Irish Sea who seek to reach the Root through Druidism, more specifically, Ogham. Ogham, an ancient language, similar to that of runes in Scandinavia and Germany, however, with a focus around marking and claiming territory. In other words, creating Bounded Fields. From the very beginning, the Astrologia seeked to reach the Root by recreating the Tower of Babel. And what language other than one said to come into being directly as a result of the scattering people and language would be perfect for this? And so for seventeen long grueling generations, the Astrologia went about creating a territory that can match the famed tower, advancing their understanding of Ogham with every passing year. This is the legacy Hamel was born into. From his very birth he was raised with the expectation of taking up the mantle of family head. From the very moment he could open his eyes he was greeted by thick tomes of ancient knowledge and stone monuments etched with the ancient language. As he matured, Hamel became entranced by this mystical world he was brought into. Everything he had experienced, even the near unbearable pain brought forth from thaumaturgy, was a delight to him. Once he had matured enough, he was sent to London to advance his own understanding of magecraft and to perhaps further increase his families standing in the greater magical society. That plan, did not go entirely well. While Hamel did above average in his studies, in terms of making allies and advancing the political ladder, frankly Hamels habits had created a few enemies within the Clocktower. While none of them were of any particularly influential family, word of his nature as a… collector had spread, denying him much clout within the Association. Still, gathering a negative reputation did not bother Hamel too much. He was confident in his families abilities and any attempt to deny the Astrologia resources was met with the overconfident head looking past the offended party and simply looking elsewhere. --- Magic Circuit Switch: The image of a crashing tower. Number of Magic Circuits: C Quality of Magic Circuits: B --- Elemental Affinity: Earth Magecraft: As a member of the Magus Association, Hamel has of course attended the Clocktower for general education. While not the most talented individual to have ever attended, Hamel still passed without much trouble. While studying at the Clocktower, Hamel became interested in Spiritual Evocation and had, after some initial troubles, become proficient in this field. But as the Head of Astrologia, it should come to no surprise that there is no trouble in exercising the abilities offered by the family magecraft, Ogham. A rune-like magecraft that the Astrologias had adapted to function particularly well in the creation and functions of Bounded Fields, having even adapted a special method of invoking the runes by replicating the shape with their hands instead of drawing them. However, just because the Astrologia have gone down the field of Bounded Field creation does not mean it is limited to solely that direction. Ogham is still a versatile magecraft, and can be utilized in a myriad of ways. It is possible, for example to create low rank golems out of willow trees or to use them to crudely project elemental manifestations. Such a use of Ogham is within grasp for anyone with passable knowledge of this magecraft. It is, however, only when used in the creation of bounded fields that the Astrologia truly showcase the power of their family craft. It is to no one's surprise that the Astrologia's, too, know Druidism though not to the point of specialization. The extent of their abilities are that of reshaping nature and growing tree's along with other flora. Crest: Established in the 14th century, resides on the back covering an area from the bottom left torso to halfway to the middle of the right side of the back. Weapon: (Mystic codes, other weapons, etc. Any magus should have a few mystic codes, average for this sort of situation will be considered 3.) Burning Rowan Tree of Disquiet: A blackened stave of Rowan, carved into it is a collection of Ogham runes that stretch from the bottom to the top. As a mystic code it creates a Bounded Field that creates a swamp within itself, spawning with it hypnotic phantasms that interfere with the minds of people and guide them to there deaths. To be clear, the means of convincing the people to follow is through hypnosis. As a swamp, the territory also functions like a tomb, trapping the spirits within the field and creating artificial nature spirits. Of course, from the outside one wouldn’t be able to tell. Only a poor magus wouldn’t be able to hide a bounded field. Colorless, odorless, and absolutely undetectable. Giulia Toffana has confessed to killing over 600 men with her poison. Even after her execution her legacy lived on, and it was rumored that Aqua Toffana was the poison used to kill Amadeus Wolfgang. A poison commonly used by wives to become widows, it’s status as a mere poison was transformed upon Guilia’s ascension into a substance which severs unwanted ties by means of converting the sacred into sacrilege. One crucial component to the creation of such poison was the mana that gathered around Saint Nicholas’ relics, which Gulia had managed to obtain. By thaumaturgic means, Gulia had turned a miraculous fluid that healed into an unholy substance that produced only death. One drop weakens the imbiber physically, three puts a tremendous strain on the body in the form of immense abdominal pain from the accumulated toxins, and the fourth would be death. Rather than a tool that severs unwanted ties, Aqua Tofana becomes a reagent which transforms the body into something unholy.
