[@Sophrus] Actually I would have said the contrary is true. While their shields can defend against their own weapons fairly effectively, said weapons aren't too powerful either. More powerful energy based weaponry has been seen to quickly deplete Goa'uld shields.
However kinetic and explosives weapons have proven even less effective than Goa'uld staff cannons against shields.

Blasters on the other hand sound like they would tend more towards an 'energy' based weapon. So I would think that might be more effective than pure kinetic weapons.

The energy vs kinetic topic is currently being discussed so nothing set in stone just yet.
