The village was called Otamura and most residents worked in the rice paddies that was cultivated next to the small village. Kōnotori, preferably called Koko, was named after the storks that habitually visited the rice paddies. She has three older sisters: Tazuko, Sawako, and Yayoi. While they were not poor, the family was not flourishing either. For the first five years of Koko’s life, they lived in a small house as their father worked in the paddy fields and their mother repaired the clothes of the workers. It was three weeks after her fifth birthday that her father fell ill. Two days after that, he died. Without the steady income from his work, Koko’s mom could no longer support her four daughters. Because she wanted a better life for them, a life she couldn’t provide, the daughters were left at Minashigo-in Koyō Sābisu, the Amegakure orphanage. At the orphanage, the two eldest were immediately enrolled in the Academy as they were of age, leaving Yayoi and Koko to endure the training program at Minashigo-in Koyō Sābisu. It was around then that a rift developed between Koko and the last remnants of her family. While Yayoi was determined to become strong and eventually reunite the sisters with their mother, Koko focused solely on herself and making sure she had a kickass life. Because of her lack of maternal affection in her childhood, and being in the orphanage training program, Koko has a hard time connecting with people which furthered the bridge between her and her sisters. At some point, Yayoi disappeared – and Koko didn’t notice until a couple of months later. Upon entering the academy, Koko was determined to be the best that she could. She didn’t want to be a sad little abandoned girl anymore. At the Academy, Koko quickly discovered she didn’t have quite the knack for ninjutsu. She could still perform it, but it took her longer to get it than the rest of the students and she had to work harder for it. She wasn’t a terrible student, though. Koko gave the resident teacher’s pet and top of the class, Kazami Miyako, a run for her money in taijutsu. Koko dominated in taijutsu and put all of her energy and attention into that. With taijutsu, however, there ran the risk of meeting enemies that could defeat her without letting her get close. Due to this worry, Koko dabbled in iryo-ninjutsu and medical knowledge until she learned enough about the human body to start utilizing poisons with her taijutsu. After graduating from the Academy, Koko was put on Team 13 with the dreaded Miyako and the unfortunate mediator between the two, Sora. Mostly the team breezed through missions and were successful in getting the job done, until they didn’t. A typical C-Rank became the deathbed of Sora, killed in action after miscommunication and stubbornness between Koko and Miyako put him in harm’s way. Koko couldn’t say she cried over his death; there were the bare beginnings of attachment to him, but he died too soon for Koko to bond with him well enough to care. For the most part, she felt unsettled by the change of her routine and how quickly death can come for someone. There was some guilt, because it was her fault he died, but it wasn’t substantial enough. Unlike Miyako who vowed revenge, Koko wanted to hunt down the shinobi that killed Sora for an entirely different reason: he touched what wasn’t his. Miyako and Koko became closer, so some good came of his death. The duo became a trio again when the young little shit Sakana came along. Koko didn’t mind his presence, he was just another name and face to become part of her routine until she rose the ranks. Miyako was more reluctant at his addition and Koko made no move to keep the peace – that wasn’t her job, never was. He was driven and he wasn’t deadweight, that was good enough for Koko. The new Team 13 weren’t together for long, they eventually made it to jonin together and went their separate ways. Koko still makes sure to bother them – she tells herself because it’s routine, but in truth she has grown attached to Miyako. Miyako has become maybe the only person Koko would cry over if she died. Koko isn’t quite as close to Sakana, but he’s grown a bit on her too. Like an annoying parasite. Now comes the biggest hurdle in Koko’s career. A genin team. Koko has no idea why anyone would trust her with little tiny shinobi, but when she volunteered to be a jonin they didn’t say no. The hallucinogenic is fast acting and begins working within two minutes; however, it can wear off from anywhere to fifteen minutes to an hour, depending on the constitution of the opponent. It has the slight tangy taste of a tangerine; therefore, it can be detected by taste. Ingestion is the best way for the poison to take. It is very liquidy and doesn't stick to projectiles well - it is best used hidden in food.[/indent] [color=gray]▸[/color] [b]Description:[/b][indent]Koko's most deadly poison. Doku Mikan no Seppun is able to paralyze opponents in small doses and kill in higher doses. However, the line between kill and paralyzing is very thin as the dosage all matters on constitution, weight, height, and poison resistance which cannot be calculated easily in a fight. As such, it is very easy to overdose an opponent when meaning to paralyze and paralyze when meaning to kill. Due to the high margin of error, Koko mostly uses this poison for assassinations rather than in battle unless as a last resort. Death is not immediate and can cause agony up to two days before the system is shut down. It is curable and a talented iryō-nin will have time to save the patient. It is incredibly difficult to use as it does not stick on a kunai or senbon in enough concentration to paralyze someone. She’s a tall woman who towers over even some men at six feet tall. Despite being taller than most people, she has average body proportions. Upon her face are red triangles tattooed along her jaw at an angle and if someone was to take her mask off, they would find a scar from her lip that curves into her chin. The scar has indented part of her lip since so much skin was sliced off. Her skin is so pale, it is almost translucent with visible blue veins in her arms and hands. Parts of her hands have burns and underneath her clothes are a litany of scars, mostly burns as well but some are from kunai and the like. Bunko’s dark red hair is naturally unruly and the back is usually inexpertly chopped off with a kunai when Bunko gets irritated with the length. On her tongue is a seal to prevent her from talking about the Arashi no Shugo-sha.[/indent] [color=gray]▸[/color] [b]Wardrobe:[/b][indent]Bunko likes to wear clothes that are not easily drenched by the Amekagure rain and are silent when she moves. Being ex-Arekuruu, stealth is an important staple of her wardrobe: dark clothes, silent, and unrecognizable. To achieve all her requirements, Bunko tends to wear black pants that end around her ankles, the loose ends restricted by bandages and tucked into her black shinobi sandals. Her shirt is dark purple with the ends tucked into her pants and her sleeves covering her shoulders, but leaving her arms bare. Now that she is not Arekuruu, Bunko has taken to wearing a water-resistant cloak that is zipped up past her chin in pale gold, white, and slight additions of red. She has added a mask to cover her lower face to prevent others from seeing the seal on her tongue when she is talking; it is an unnecessary precaution because the seal is place at the back but she still likes to have the extra measure. Bunko was born into the Shimizu clan that inherited the kekkei genkai of Futton, boil release, and used it with brutal efficiency. With her parentage being two exceptionally strong Futton users, Bunko was expected to show special promise in the nature transformation. They weren’t disappointed when Bunko accessed her kekkei genkai at a young age, when she first begun training with her clan at four, but their hopes were quickly dashed when Bunko proved to be lacking in prodigal talent. Her access to the kekkei genkai was strong and she was able to mold boil release chakra with ease, but was subpar in learning jutsu and unable to control Futton effectively. In the long run, her clan’s disappointment in her mediocrity would be only a footnote of Bunko’s life. Around the age of five, Bunko disappeared from Yugakure overnight, when mysterious figures stole her away in the middle of the night. She was taken by the Arekuruu of Amegakure, which would become her new future. Bunko was trained brutally in the Arashi no Shugo-sha, worked until her bones shook and muscles she didn’t even know existed ached. Her weakness with forming jutsu was pushed and pushed until she became a Futton master at the age of thirteen. They worked her Futton, the reason for her kidnapping, past its limits – this had the unfortunate affect of her being slightly lacking in other skills, however. Bunko spent her life as Arekuruu, serving Amegakure who she had begun to see as her saviors from a lackluster life in the Shimizu clan. There is no life for Bunko outside of the Arashi no Shugo-sha, all she has ever known is the small memories of the Shimizu clan and the overwhelming experiences of being Arekuruu. It is only in the past few months that Bunko has had a taste of life in Ame without being a part of the secret faction. At the age of twenty-three, Bunko had contracted a mysterious illness that made her a reliability. For months she was removed from missions and stayed in the hospital, it drove her stir crazy, but she became too weak to even walk, let alone go on missions. The muscles in her left leg deteriorated slightly, she was feverish and delusion for months at a time. There came a point where she was either going to start getting better or there was no going back for her; thankfully the former happened. She began to recover slowly and by the time Yogensha became the new Amekage, Bunko was ready to rejoin the forces.
