Each passing moment added a new layer of tension to the gathered heroes outside and soon would force their hand into risking an engagement with the villains and merc personell gathered on the top floors currently engaged in a shootout, it sounded, with whatever defense force had managed to infiltrate the mercenary groups perimeter. That would not be good for anyone much less Midnight. Much as the being didn't care about consequence of inaction on his part it would still be troublesome to have to deal with Shadewalkers insufferable attitude. Better to have it go on everyone but himself. But first there needed to be a diversion for his own diversion. It took only a few seconds as the black silhouetted villain whispered a few choice words and gathered up 5 hostages from the main group. Enough that it wouldn't be missed but little enough to fulfill his plan. Free of their restraints, terrified at what was about to happen, Midnight simply told them to run. Run as fast and quickly to the police line as possible. If they spoke a single word they would be killed where they stood. A lie but they weren't the gambling sort. At the sound of a low whistle the unarmed hostages ran for the building door and out into the waiting street, the police calling to hold their fire as panic stricken faces filled their view, ushering in the frightened individuals to the police line. Unaware of the Villain in the midst of the little group. Unlike other Villains and Heroes who sported fancy attire and one-piece body suits designed to separate themselves from a crowd Midnights attire was the opposite. Hooded jacket, gloves, running shoes, black pants, as little 'skin' showing as physically possible to make him look like a civilian. His mask was even hidden below the thick hood as the group inched closer and closer to the police line as they covered the doors just in case.. The shot was precise enough. A single bullet from one of the mercenaries inside took Midnight square in the back, his body slumped forward as the Villain disguised as a civilian dramatically fell forward to his stomach and further concealed his face. Footsteps echoed all around as civilians raced from the area by police escort while one brave officer scrambled out and dragged Midnights limp 'body' behind the police line. The resulting burst of volatile energy was cataclysmic. At 20% of his total stored energy the eruption tore apart cars and flung anyone within 20 feet of Midnights epicenter like paper caught in a gust of wind. Rising from his 'downed' position the Villain took in the scene and reacted accordingly, further flinging his quirks energy at any nearby vehicle. The volatile energy burned bright and precise as it struck gas tanks to trigger a chain of explosions in the course of mere moments. With a spectacle put down, it was time for the heroes to make their move. They would come in fast, likely aiming for his chest. Blades flower pedals would do little to his exoskeleton. If needed it could be abandoned.
