Edith didnt get behind him like he asked.  Smaller and weaker, but she didn't want to give off the wrong idea that they were afraid what she could only assume was the thing that bothered to spawn them in the first place, and their bloody souls just decided to jump in.  Regardless there was a bunch of things she didn't know, so she figured it was worth the effort to do something crazy.

She sang the verse and then stopped, letting silence fill the cave again.  She wasn't bad, it was just a woman singing acapella in a cave.  She sang gently as if the words were a lullaby, not trying to put anyone to sleep, but sooth the savage beast. It was quite a silly thing to do but she reasoned.
