The mounting numbers not registering to her. All she saw was an objective to complete. With only a sword to strike with she swiped it left and right. Tossing the blade's twilight crescents with each swing. Her speed increasing with each kill. She had done this repeatedly, at least thirty times before she turned from a cleared path to see the others. The other fallen maidens that would aid her tonight. Interrupting her slaughter was the Dark Knight. She showed up with a flashy burst of her power that destroyed multiples at once. Making her constant swinging look like childish playing. This was not lost on her young mind and she cursed her own weakness. If she gave into the dark entirely would she be stronger? She felt a tug in her chest that was reminiscent to when she first crept into darkness. The power was intoxicating. She was beginning to notice how vast the nightmare numbers were. She found it overwhelming and feeling a momentary chill of negativity wanting to give into the nightmares slow feeding embrace. Her partner emerged from her hiding spot. The sound of her weapons woke her from her daze. A nightmare swiped at Hikari while she was not looking. A shot from a distance hit the nightmare momentarily throwing off its swing. Hikari felt the air shift, making her hair stand on end and her ponytail dance. She narrowly lowered herself out of its strike and rolled forward. She shot forward and upward stabbing through the Nightmare's attempt to defend itself and let it rapidly spread as she stood on top of its mask. Someone was in the distance firing on the Nightmares and she smiled slightly for that. She didn't feel entirely alone when out here combating. Her partner sounded lively and this brought a confidence back in Hikari. She raised her blade to the moonlit sky and it shined with a dazzling display. She brought it back and unleashed a crescent strike that cut through several nightmares in a row before fading away. Hikari closed her eyes as she absorbed the power the Nightmares held within. She felt at peace, it showed on her face. She looked up to see the countless nightmares around her. They were wandering out but another magical girl routed them with ice. She nodded to her appearance with thanks and continued slaying Nightmares. Hikari knew there were more to aiding the fight than just being a killing machine. Again she cursed herself, this time it was her perceived lack of utility. She blocked, countered and cut furiously. Taking down Nightmares with every breathe by unleashing crescent strikes everywhere. She leaped through the alleys now. Dashing nightmares across the walls as she pranced. Weightlessly moving across the ground and on the walls with a constant glow surrounding her and her armor. Those who came near her were lucky enough to be saved and her ghostly angelic form remained for only a glimpse before darting off to save another. Hikari was going through the alleys and rooftops as if they were a maze. She swiftly took out nightmares and did not turn an eye to see if the people she released from their clutches were alive or dead. She could not heal them.... But one did help them. Even upon her arrival she began displaying her form of light. This light beamed over the night and Hikari witnessed the light and the nightmares who like moths were drawn to it immediately. Hikari noticed how the light purified the nightmares and those who were in their clutches rather than leave them injured on the cement. But her focus was primarily on the horde that engorged corridors the witch was in. Hikari could see her due to her brimming light magic. Indeed it was a powerful spell and with the nightmares funneling in she could easily wipe them out. Her sense of jealousy was overclouded by her need to return to the light. So this was her duty. To fight.
"See you downside partner!"
Hearing the charming prince say those words made her feel uneasy about how she did not pay her own partner much mind, nor work with her. But now was a good time to make up for that. So she smiled and nodded. "Be right there!" Her soft voice resonating with a joyful cheer. She stepped off the ledge of the rooftop she was on and landed on a Nightmares head with her blade. Kicking off it she hit the ground with a roll and stopped in a stance next to Alex and the Hag. She faced the horde but took a moment look at the old magical girl she had heard of. "It's a pleasure." She said with a half smile before rushing forward with her partner to aid her in keeping the horde at back. Crescent strikes and shield bashes tossing nightmares back and cutting multiples down with ease. All while sparkling with feint light like a galaxy, the endless void.. [@Polaris North][@AtomicNut]
