hrng i drew him at like 2am this morning
Name: Zeke Avienore Race: Human Sex: Male Appearance: Zeke is in his mid-twenties, somewhat small, and severely underweight. His dark hair is a wild mess and he often wears the same thing every day: a plain shirt, pants, and a navy blue cloak. His eyes, a similar blue-gray, are often somewhere else, glazed over because the conversation he's having is decidedly uninteresting and he'd rather think about whether it's possible to genetically engineer a fish that's still viable without respiratory system. Backstory: Belonging to a wealthy family, Zeke was given the best education money could buy. However, he often failed his classes due to general apathy. He harbored a growing resentment, fueled by paranoia, toward the school system, believing that it was designed to brainwash children into a patriotic and unquestioning mindset so as to become the happily ignorant tools of the government. When this belief manifested into verbal and physical violence, he was suspended several times until he was expelled outright. When he was fourteen, Zeke ran away from home without any warning. He survived on the streets as a petty criminal, choosing to carve his own path through blood and grime rather than live the comfortable, entitled life of a sheep. He continually destroyed his fingerprints and otherwise took precautions as to ensure that his capture would be unlikely. As he aged, Zeke began to find more sustainable methods of living, snatching a legitimate job as a librarian's assistant. He currently spends most of his time pursuing his hobbies, namely reading books and squinting through a telescope. Personality: Zeke is friendly and polite and expresses himself primarily through dark humor and his love of the night sky, and he prefers that that be the most anyone knows about him. His voice is weak and raspy, so he doesn't speak often, but is a superb listener if you're talking about more than just the weather and will smilingly help you solve your problems, but all of that is merely a façade. Sadistic, cunning, a manipulative bastard and compulsive liar, Zeke doesn't actually care much for other people and would just as quickly destroy your social life as give you helpful advice. He only ever pursues his own personal goals, and his peers are just a means to that end. He has a lot of practice hiding this, however, and luckily it's not often that someone is severely harmed by his endeavors. Curiosity is his primary motivator, and almost everything of significance that he does is simply just because he wants to know "what would happen if..." Once one question is answered, it's on to the next one, or sometimes it's on to the next one before the first one was finished to begin with. Zeke can sometimes be painfully oblivious to his surroundings, as he lives mostly in his own head. He is also meticulously perfectionistic, which translates to inefficient time management as he wastes startling amounts of time on the little nuances that, in the end, don't make a difference. In addition, he has difficulty learning from his mistakes and tends to repeat them indefinitely if he doesn't prioritize correcting them. Zeke holds intellect at highest esteem, and disdains those who do not meet his standard. He tends to push aside or ignore his own emotions, believing them to be counterproductive, and thus has difficulty understanding and handling them. Usually, he'll experience emotions in short, strong bursts before forgetting about them altogether. Skills: Looking at things that are really far away Zeke usually spends his nights observing the sky and has a fair understanding of astronomy. Consider it an obsession. Alarmingly expansive knowledge of inapplicable subjects Heavily in areas of math and science. Nothing that can actually help him in the "real world" for the most part, but it does include awareness in psychology and anatomy. Those are useful, right? Cloak and dagger fighting, but without the dagger The secret to Zeke's cloak is that it's actually weighted, so at close range he can use it to deflect or entangle weapons. He can also smack you in the face with it, similar to how one can smack you in the face with a flail. Work on the go Zeke is a multitask pro, and often has his attention divided. It's a rare occurrence when he's not distracted. Not telling the truth If there's a way to lie, regardless of whether there's a good reason, Zeke can do it convincingly. Moves: Surgeon's Hand: Level 1 A steady hand and confident grip that is useful for delicate, precision tasks or just for drawing. Ignores stress and anxiety debuffs with increasing potency as level increases. Inventory: Pocket Telescope Wow! It fits in one hand! Calculator Programmable with advanced graphing utility in three dimensions. It can also run videogames! :D Sewing Kit For fixing his cloak after battles. Flashlight With extremely bright, bright, dim, and strobe settings. Can reach 800 lumens - easily enough to temporarily disorient the average person in broad daylight - and equip laser pointers or bayonets. Notebook and Pen For when he's bored. Theme song: The Muffin Song 10 Hours Misc: Bonus Skills! Paranoia Can suspect literally anyone of having malicious intent. Death Stare A withering glare that can intimidate or at least disconcert almost anyone. Attention to Detail Can spot tiny discrepancies such as a painting that is slightly tilted - just like him! - and be immensely annoyed by them. Left-Handedness Upon using the writing or drawing skill, increased likelihood of being asked the question "Are you left-handed?" Monochromatism The incredible ability to see only one color, ever!
