Alright, more or less finished my CS I think! I want to add an image later, when I have the time to draw one up, but for now I've written some simple appearance details. Hopefully I covered everything and did well! [hider=Aldrin Liess] [b]Name:[/b] Aldrin Liess [b]Race:[/b] Human [b]Sex:[/b] Male [b]Appearance:[/b] Aldrin is a young man of small and thin build, and inherited the same pale skin and fluffy blond hair of his mother. His eyes, on the other hand, share the same bright blue color of his father's. Aldrin's clothing is typically simple - a shirt, vest, pants, and a pair of boots suited to living outside - with the most color part of his outfit being a blue bandanna that once belonged to his mother, which he now wears tied around his neck. On occasion, however, Aldrin tries different sorts of clothing when he has the opportunity to sew something together. [b]Backstory:[/b] Years ago, Aldrin's mother had been a great magician who served a noble family and lived a lavish life. However, she fell in love with a young man from a family that was hated by the nobles she served due to a long-standing blood feud. She and the young man both fled from the respective families to be together, sacrificing all of their wealth and standing in the process and disappeared to a simple life in the wilderness far away. When Aldrin was born, his parents cared for him very much and raised him to be a proper young man even despite living in a small cabin so far from larger civilizations. Aldrin's mother told him many stories, and was especially fond of the legend of the three moons, fully believing there to be truth to the legend. Soon, she taught Aldrin more than just stories, as Aldrin took an interest in his mother's spellcasting talents and studied the craft with her help. Tragedy struck, however, as the same family that Aldrin's father had run away from found the family and their home. When Aldrin's father had abandoned the noble family for the love of an enemy magician, it had shamed the nobles greatly and dealt a heavy blow to their social standing. One of the eldest siblings of Aldrin's father had never forgiven this and had set out to find and kill him and the magician woman he'd fled with in retaliation. Aldrin's parents managed to slip Aldrin out of their home and told him to escape, as the noble family had never known that a child had been born between the two, and so Aldrin was forced to run from his home while his parents were captured and executed. With nowhere else to turn, Aldrin was heartbroken at the loss of his parents and uncertain of what to do next. To take revenge against the nobles who had done this to him was out of the question, as even if he had been raised to have a mindset for such a thing, he knew well that he could never accomplish such a task with his meager magical skills. Yet to simply find a new home and go on living a new life as if nothing had happened was a painful thought to him. It was then that Aldrin remembered the stories his mother had told him, the legend of the three moons, and how his mother had insisted that there must be a truth to the story. Having lost everything else in his life, Aldrin committed himself to finding a way to uncover the truth of the moons. [b]Personality:[/b] Aldrin was raised to be polite and have proper manners, though he lacks experience in actually utilizing those manners in front of other people on account of living with only his parents for so long, and tends to be fairly jumpy and nervous around new people. Despite this, he's a strong-willed and determined young man with kind-hearted tendencies, always willing to put the needs of others before his own. Often, though, he becomes too fixated on helping other people and neglects his own feelings and needs, partly out of natural habit and partly to stop himself from thinking too much about the pain he feels from losing his family. Aldrin's parents were kind people who emphasized the importance of doing the right thing, and that has always stuck with Aldrin. He frequently holds himself to high standards and tries to ensure he never does anything wrong unless it's truly necessary for the sake of someone else, and tends to unintentionally hold other people to that same ideal. [b]Skills:[/b] Magical talent isn't the only thing Aldrin has learned throughout his young life. He did, after all, live in a small home in the wilderness from birth, and as such understands techniques for tracking creatures and setting simple hunting traps. Such things have, in the past, only been used for finding food, but Aldrin has been learning as of late that those skills may someday come in handy in other situations. Similarly, Aldrin knows first aid treatments for injuries, and has general knowledge of plant and animal life. Outside of knowledge of the natural world, Aldrin also has his own hobbies. He's skilled at sewing and patching up torn fabric and clothing, and dabbles in creating custom clothing when he has the time and materials to do so. [b]Moves:[/b] [u][i]Fireball (Lv. 1 Spell) -[/i][/u] A staple spell for a magician, Aldrin is able to conjure and throw a small flame which expands and bursts into a much larger flame on impact! Great for handling groups of enemies, but potentially risky and dangerous in an enclosed space or when people who [i]shouldn't[/i] be burned are present. [u][i]Dozing (Lv. 1 Spell) -[/i][/u] Aldrin can cause one creature to fall asleep through the power of magic. Requires his focus to maintain, however, so he can only keep one target asleep at a time. Naturally is also ineffective on creatures that do not sleep. [u][i]Disguise (Lv. 1 Spell) -[/i][/u] Aldrin can magically alter the appearance of one person, causing them to look like someone else. It's purely a cosmetic change and does not alter any actual abilities of the effected person. The spell lasts for roughly an hour. [u][i]Frost Lance (Lv. 1 spell) -[/i][/u] Aldrin can conjure and throw a sharp slab of ice the size of a large knife and throw it at a creature as a weapon. Not the strongest of offensive spells, but still useful for self-defense. [u][i]Shield (Lv. 1 spell) -[/i][/u] An important spell for defense, Aldrin conjures a magic shield of energy which hovers near himself, making it harder for attackers to land a successful hit. As the spell requires intense focus to keep the shield's form, Aldrin has to end the spell before using any other magic. [b]Inventory:[/b] Aldrin was able to take very few things with him when he was forced to flee from his home. Aside from the clothes on his back, all he had left were the spellbook he was using to write notes on the spells he has studied thus far, and a knife. He has no formal training with the latter, but it's always important to have a backup when magic fails to solve the problem.
