At least then if she was hit Thalia would keep her from falling. If Thalia were hit... well, hopefully Nina could grab onto the plane wing she was holding up in time to save them both. As it happened, they were both safe for the time being. Whether from luck or the efforts of those shooting in the plane, neither the OMEN Agents or the Sentinels seemed to notice Thalia flying alongside the craft. The plane itself was heavy, but an easy weight for Nina to support, even when several feet up in the air. Keeping most of the weight along her shoulders and back in order to support it better, Nina gritted her teeth as she avoided looking down. She wasn't exactly squeamish of heights, but they were still pretty high up.
Charlie Farrier
 [sub]Location: Xavier's Institute[/sub]

Considering the fact that Nina and Thalia would need to open a door (Or ramp, whatever) in order to exit the plane, Guin's concerns about being sucked out into thin air didn't exactly hold true. Besides, everyone knew D.B Cooper survived the drop from the plane with his parachute. He would have been sipping bourbon and soda in Maui before you could say "No Funny Stuff." Anyway, unsolved mysteries aside, Charlie nodded as Mary asked him to stand down. Sara was providing more help copying Allison anyway, and there was a chance his shooting out the back could make it more of a target. With everyone else sat there, it probably wasn't the best decision. Especially if it wouldn't do much. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to make robots that adapted to attacks? From the side of the attackee, it was a pretty dumb idea. Slumping down beside Carolina and the others, he shuddered as he listened to her and at the thought of being "studied". That was one of the main reasons he'd fled from home, mixed in with shame, and fear that his family would reject him. Keeping quiet as the discussion about Jacobsen and Cornish went on (He had no idea who either of them were, but if they were British, they were bound to be evil. Right?), he only looked to Dean as the guy exclaimed. Charlie was surprised at his outburst at first - hadn't Dean been at the Academy longer than he had? Even if not, he'd been there long enough to know that death was bound to follow them, no matter how far away from trouble they'd attempted to stay. Just look at today - there they were, talking about prom and video games, normal teenager stuff, when they were attacked by mutant-phobic psychopaths and their murder machines. "Dean, I think quite a few people in this plane have killed people." He said gently, feeling equal parts relieved and apprehensive that he wasn't included in that. It had been two years, but he still hadn't been forced to take anyone's life yet... but he appreciated it was bound to happen. Maybe Dean needed some help understanding that too. "Being in the X-Men - in fact, not just the X-Men, but being different like we are... we're bound to have to make that choice sooner or later. You may not have to, because your power can be used for a lot of things! But someone more like me..." He trailed off, sighing lightly and being sure to keep his voice down. The younger kids didn't need to hear this. "Well, fire and ice can't exactly be used for anything good in a situation like this one." Super-Agility though, that could be used more to save than to harm. Dean was lucky in having that choice.
