If you were to pitch something like a blind girl with supernatural senses, a guy with very very mild telekinetic abilities, a sleuth with supernaturally good intuition, or an android that was sentient by some means I would accept that.
Basically, think of it as a possible deniability rule. If you can pitch it in a way that gives it ambiguity, I am down with it no matter what it is.
This also applies to supernatural abilities that could be misinterpreted as technology.
