Either one works. The Nambu would be easier to resupply since we're fighting Japanese, but the M1911 would be common too among those from the Philippines and maybe the Soviet Union/British Raj the Americans supplied them like they did in our timeline. However, it might be harder to resupply the M1911 (same with the Tommy, since they take the same round unless you want to be super specific with your variant), since while the Americans did export .45ACP, I'm not sure if they were able to export them with the Japanese invasion happening. The Japanese had captured enough .45ACP in our timeline to use in limited standard service, but I'm not sure where it would be used.
