Name: Richard Johnathan 'Dick' Grayson Alias: Nightwing, formerly Robin Age: 18 Powers/Drawbacks: World's best acrobat, trained by Batman in superhero stuff. Is still only human and can let his heart take charge over his head. Can be a real hopeless romantic/heart on sleeve kind of guy. Skills: You name it, Bruce probably taught him it. Bio: -Circus boy of Romani descent who learned to pick pockets during his time under the big top, often stealing from the pockets of wealthy attendees to give to those who were in need, the vagrants and wanderers who stole away on the circus' train. -Son of world-class trapeze artists -Haly's Circus was a recruitment ground for the Court of Owls and Dick Grayson was the prime candidate. -The Court arranged for the death of John and Mary Grayson but Dick was taken away by the GCPD before the Owls could make their move. -Any further attempts were thwarted by the Batman as Dick Grayson was taken in Bruce Wayne's home. -Dick, skilled in reading people, eventually realized that not all was as it seems. Realizing the young boy's potential and the similarities to their own situations, Bruce left a test for Dick. -Passing the test, Dick discovered the Batcave and was taken under the wing of the Batman -Choosing the name Robin, in honor of Robin Hood, Dick wanted to ensure the wealthy underbelly of Gotham was forced to give the money back to those it rightfully belonged. -Dick grew up working alongside the Batman and eventually was part of the original iteration of the Titans. -It was during his time with the Titans that Dick got his first taste of independence, drifting away from Batman and beginning to spend more time with peers of his own. -Eventually, this came to a head and the pair had a falling out, leading to Dick being dismissed from his role of Robin. He was replaced shortly after when a young thief by the name of Jason Todd got Batman's attention by attempting to steal the wheels off the Batmobile. -Travelling the world, Dick returned home when world of Jason's death reached him. The boy had gone out on patrol alone and disappeared for nearly three days before Batman discovered the body, the word 'DECEIVER' scrawled across his chest. -With Jason's death, Bruce receded from all those around him and Dick found himself going to Bruce's closest friend for advice, Superman -Superman shared some insight into Bruce as well as bonding with Dick and telling him the tale of some heroes of his own homeworld that reminded him of Batman and Robin. The tales of Flamebird and Nightwing inspired Dick and Superman informed him that Nightwing wore a Kryptonian symbol for rebirth and new beginnings. Taking it to heart, Dick began to forge a new identity. -Then Doomsday happened, an already distraught Batman suffered the loss of his closest friend and ally, the loss of Superman dealing the League a staggering blow. -In the aftermath, Dick took it upon himself to rebuild, taking the mantle of Nightwing and bringing together a new team of Titans to train and step in to help the League maintain the world now that crime is swelling in the wake of the vacuum left by Superman's death.
