Still, as two Sentinels on their tail finally noticed the pair outside the plane, sharp turns were going to be the least of their problems. Gasping as Thalia wrapped herself around her body, Nina could still feel the impact of the two shots that had slammed into the winged woman. Although she herself was unscathed, Thalia looked shaken. Looking over her shoulder as a few of the Sentinels dropped from the sky, Nina wondered how much longer they'd be in the air for. As she heard over the comms, they had to worry about debris hitting people below... which would mean a longer detour. Shifting the weight on her shoulders a bit, Nina spoke to Thalia. "Are you going to be okay?" Though she was still flying, Nina couldn't tell from the position she was in to look at Thalia's injuries. She'd told him before about her best friend being killed... by chance, she and him had shared very similar powers, a coincidence that hadn't gone unnoticed by Carolina. She'd not gone into detail about killing anyone herself though, though it's not as if he expected her to. It wasn't easy - or at least, not to him - to kill, or even think about killing someone. He still felt immense guilt over the incident that had landed him with the X-Men in the first place. The explosion hadn't killed any of the bullies, but it had changed their lives in an awful way. After plucking up the courage to search the story online several months after it had happened, Charlie had discovered that all of them had suffered third degree burns over most of their bodies. One of them had to have his lower left arm amputated due to the damage, and another one was stuck in a wheelchair for life due to too much pain when walking. He'd felt sick to his stomach, knowing that he was responsible for it. Shuddering lightly as he ran through those sickening thoughts again, he ran his hands through his hair roughly to get back to the here and now. They were close to Stark Tower, but he wouldn't feel relief until they'd landed and everyone was behind both closed doors, and the full might of the Avengers.
