Alice sat at her desk in the back of the room, carefully looking over documents and signing her name after each one. She took a brief glance at the clock, reading 6:50 AM, and stretched her back. "I suppose it would be alright to take a little break." She muttered to herself, pushing her chair back and moving to the small kitchen to start the kettle. --- It was a brisk morning in Seattle. The sun hadn't started rising yet, and the world was locked in a quiet twilight. The streets were starting to look alive as the first commuters began their days. The evergreens were the only trees left with foliage as the winter chill took it's toll.
