Magic is innate to all people, however there are those who dedicate entire lives to studying the arcane, developing abilities which many believe to be not of this world.

Near everyone can use magic to ignite a small flame, lighting candles at dark or a fire to cook with. Additionally, most learn to control the energies of healing to seal and accelerate the healing in minor wounds but few every gain much skills beyond this.

The abilities of magic are near limitless and are in fact only limited by the imagination and lifespan of the dedicated student. There are even whispers of those who have learned to escape death, shedding their mortal form for something much more horrific.
