(Author's Note: I highly recommend listening to Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin while reading this.) The sound of police sirens started to fill the air, an ominous crescendo as they began to get closer to the bar. Jocelyn starts the bike and speeds off. I had hoped we'd get a head start and quickly shake these fuckers. It looked like we would a for a short time. That is until we got onto 47th Street. It was pretty much empty save for us and the police car that was hot on our tails. "We need to lose these guys asap!" I shout to her "I'm trying!" She shouted back I look behind us. The cops are getting closer. An idea pops into my head but I feel a bit reluctant to go through with it. Doing something like that out in the open won't be good for us. There has to be another way… "Do you know of any shortcuts? Just something that'll get us off this road and away from the cops?" I ask Jocelyn "Yeah, I do. It's coming up in a few miles." "I don't think we can wait that long." "There's nothing else I can do at the moment unless you have another plan." I pause "I do have one idea… but if we get caught it's gonna get us into a hell of a lot more trouble than we're already in." "I don't really like the sound of that but at this point all that matters is getting out of New York." She pauses for a few moments "Do whatever you have to do." "Alright… slow down a bit." "What?!" "Trust me. Just do it!" "Oh, god. I already regret this." Jocelyn sighs and begins to slow down. The gap between us and the cops starts to get smaller. I carefully stand on the bike's seat, keeping a hand on Joc's shoulder to steady myself and turn around. "Keep the bike steady." I tell her "Alright. What the hell are you doing?!" She exclaims I don't answer. I'll give her a good explanation later, if we get out of this alive. I then turn to the cop car and stand up, straightening myself out a bit more. After a few moments, I jump onto the hood of the cop. I quickly reach into the back of my shirt and pull my handgun. I cock it and shoot the window a couple times. The glass cracks and I kick it to make it come shattering upon the two police inside the car. The woman that is sitting on the passenger side gets her gun out but quickly shoot her both in the head and chest. I swing myself into the car to then get rid of the cop driving. He tries to fight back but I get a few hits in before I'm able to then snap his neck. I push his body aside and slide on over to his seat, taking control of the car. I speed up to get myself next to Jocelyn. She looks over to me and I give her a little wave. Her eyes widen in shock. "That was your plan?!" She yells at me. I simply give her smirk as a reply. Needing to find a way out of here, I look around the car to see if I can find something to help me. I end up tearing off a shirt from one of the police and wrap it around a few heavy items I found in the car and on the bodies themselves. I set it against the gas pedal, making sure it's at the right angle and pushing down on it all the way so the car doesn't go speeding off. I then climb out the car and crouch on the roof. Jocelyn seems to understand what I'm going to do and starts to speed up. She gets closer to the car and I'm able to then jump back on the bike. Jocelyn swerves a bit but regains control easily. "So, how close are we to that shortcut of yours?" I ask "It's coming right up. You know, I didn't see all that you did back there but I get the feeling it was all very impressive." "Your flattery is appreciated but not needed." I respond. "Yeah, I get that." She replies. "I heard few gunshots back there. You okay?" "I'm perfectly fine." I say "The cops tried their best to kill me and they failed." "What are you going to do with the car?" She asks "I'm just gonna let run till it runs out of gas or crashes. I'm assuming we'll be far away from here whenever that happens." "That we will. Here comes the shortcut."
