Inspired by [url=https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/158144-trials-of-initiation-high-casual-warhammer-40k-roleplay/ooc]Trials of Initiation[/url], an RP of venerable age ran by the one-and-only [@Ollumhammersong], the idea was excellent and it's about time to give it another go methinks!

So, to wet the whistle, here's a short section of flavour text and probably a sample of what can be expected as part of this RP.


"Scout Marines are the newest recruits in a Space Marine Chapter. Their duties are to infiltrate the enemy positions or to fight as lightly armed skirmishers ahead of the rest of the Chapter. Operating behind enemy lines, Space Marine Scouts set ambushes for their foes, spy out the enemy's movements, and gather what information they can about their opponent's plans. Sometimes Scouts will covertly attack an enemy camp, capturing a commander for interrogation or alternatively sabotaging equipment and supplies. Striking fast and hard, the Scouts usually accomplish their mission and leave before the enemy has the chance to respond."


And there we have it! 

This roleplay will be focused around a small squad of what are essentially 'rookie' Astartes (Space Marine Scouts) - although, of course, there is not really such a thing as we would know it - going through their first tentative steps among the 10th Company, through what could be considered a trial by fire, and with the ultimate goal of becoming a full battle-brother and gaining a full suit of power armour for themselves.

This should give people the opportunity to form more [i]human[/i] Space Marine characters, the Scouts not yet achieving the entire monastic aesthetic that full-fledged Space Marines seem to keep about themselves; these are young, hot-blooded, near-super humans under the tutelage of a Sergeant after all.

[u][b]Who are we?[/b][/u]

For this RP I didn't want to go with a well-known Chapter or descendant of the greater legions, and so I've chosen an obscure Chapter about which nothing is really known: the [url=http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Brotherhood]Dark Brotherhood[/url] Chapter, this is both to leave scope for Chapter-crafting and so that there's no falling back on established lore - you'll be playing scout marines of this Chapter, if that's not to your taste, then I'm sorry.

The plot and so on will be revealed in the OOC thread, so for now I am simply seeking 4-6 writers to take on the role of some Dark Brotherhood Scouts in a high casual roleplay.
