Honesty. Charity. Mercy. Irina is the perfect and true expression of God's all-encompassing love, His embrace that accepts all the world's evil with a smile, and gentle admonishment. Her patience is seemingly without end, even as she is struck and spit upon by the heretics she is sent to convert, she continues to look forwards hopefully. She awaits the day when those who have lost faith in the LORD realize the error of their ways and lay down arms. It is that ever distant dream that drives her forwards and strengthens her resolve.

As much as she accepts others faults and forgives them wholly, it is understood that it is not possible to save everyone. This fact saddens her greatly. When faced with a truly foul existence, one that thwarts every attempt of hers to turn it towards the light, feelings of righteousness overcome her. Such existences, which defy absolution with every fibre of their being, can only be forgiven in their end. God will forgive them in the next world - it is her duty to guide them there.

Ever since the moment she was born, it was known that there was something fateful about Irina. Born to a faithful family with connections to the Church, she was adopted into a local Abbey in Ireland at a young age, where she was put to work studying the word of God under the careful eyes of the Priest there. Her brilliance was what caught the eye of the greater Holy Church, who called her away to a foreign land where she could learn their ways more directly. She has lived a good life with the Church. It has given her meaning, and an understanding of her purpose in the world.

When she became older, she began to involve herself more intimately with the Church's more important activities. She skipped into her work with cheer and grace- committing herself completely into saving those who she calls lost children, those who have lost sight of God's light and whose souls are clouded with heresy and malice. Many of her jobs involved this, as she proved to be incredible capable at turning heretics over to the side of the Church. She was also entrusted with Exorcism and more than once, the removal of Vampires, always under the careful eye of her Mentor.

She has had various brushes with Executors and other members of the Church's hidden organizations, but she herself is unaware of their secretive organization, only knowing them as valiant protectors of God's will. Part of the reason for her frequent contact with such individuals is that the Church often sends her to places that are seemingly too far gone to save. She arrives as their strongest negotiator, attempting to deescalate things so that her peers can clean it up. This rarely works, much to her frustration. And yet even as these situations collapse into complete disaster, leaving horrific sights akin to the wrath of the LORD himself, she always seems to return in the end with an even stronger conviction to do right.

It is this fortitude that is her strength, her path of righteousness. It is also what makes her worthwhile to the Church, as she is one of few that can return from an exorcism with her psyche untouched by the Daemons' foul pollution. Now, she finds herself in a distant land as an observer. She is glad to find herself in a peaceful place this time, observing a simple ritual conducted by heretics to summon a relic of God. Naturally, such an artifact could not truly be the true article of Christ, but formalities are formalities, and a servant of God must be here to verify it.[hr][b]Elemental Affinity:[/b] Sun

Instead, she utilizes the Sacraments of the Church - spiritual arts and methodologies entrusted for the protection of humanity and purification of all that would taint the work of the LORD. As Magecraft is something that is built upon and strengthened by [i]"distance from humanity"[/i], Sacraments are something [i]"wholly human"[/i] that rejects anything with no place in the human world. That is how Irina was taught. 

There exist some Sacraments out there purposed for [i]"destroying"[/i] the enemies of the Church- Irina knows none of these. To do harm to others knowingly, that is the greatest sin in Irina's eyes. And it is that stalwart devotion to pacifism that makes her Sacraments truly fearsome to behold. Even the most meager and harmless of Sacraments shine like the sun when wielded by her, bringing lost children to their knees as they're enveloped in calm, all-encompassing warmth. One's body works against them when faced with something so pure, so completely without malice. The flesh of the soul can do naught but relax as it basks in her glow. This attribute of hers is applied to all of her Sacraments, but most notably, those for the binding and absolution of spirits.

Other than those, she is trained for Exorcism [i](although she did not come to Fuyuki equipped for such)[/i]. What she has brought to assist in her Sacraments are certain personal items of spiritual significance [i](crosses and the like)[/i], as well as numerous ribbons inscribed with prayers. These ribbons are symbolic of her being, and touching them is the same as touching her own bare skin. With these, she can enact powerful words of binding ordinarily limited by contact. These words are the most common means she uses for restraining Vampires and certain powerful evil spirits, as her skin is akin to burning metal to them, but any powerful spirit will find themselves somewhat affected by their influence.

Finally, she is aware of certain rites to sanctify an area, turning it into a [i]"Church"[/i]. Unlike Fuyuki Church which is decidedly a fake, the place she sanctifies in this way becomes a true spiritual fortress so long as she stays. This method is not unlike in effect to the blessings on Ryuudou Temple, although the two do have their basis in different spiritual systems.

[b]????:[/b] A hidden element, like a quality of the flesh. Few within the Church are aware of it, fewer still understand it. It is something like a beam of sunlight, suspended in time and speaking of a long forgotten era. At most times it is latent and unseen, its warmth only felt by proximity. It is only when it is excited that it becomes clear and visible, as motes like dust cross into the light.
