Ed visibly tenses at the sound of Asteria's voice. As if he just stopped himself from lurching forward and making a break for it. If Asteria was here, then Mei must be close too. Though hearing her sincerely apologize for the events that transpired yesterday, made Ed consider giving the other dire rat a second chance. He quietly turns to face the other dire rat to see that she was not alone and had brought along her mother. Though Mei was not there and that gave Ed a feeling of reassurance and reduced his anxiety greatly.

Ed hears Jason offer a friendly greeting and attempted to beckon them into a form of an alliance. The word 'alliance' sounded very tempting to him, for surely there is safety in numbers.
