Though Brennan did take the majority of the money that was on hand from the checking account, most of that was just for rocket parts and food tonight. He could have paid for a new phone with most of the cash he had on hand, of course, but saying he needed a down payment on the newest and techiest made far more sense for a couple that looked as well-off as he and Umeko did.
