Tempe Dentali
18 | Female | 125 lbs | 5'7 Wind | Native | Human Description A sullen and responsible earth dragon breeder and rancher that doesn't quite know what it is she truly wants in life. Personality A walking gray boulder, Tempe carries herself like one such rock that moves across the land with the enthusiasm of an inch per century. Dull in the eyes and somber of voice. One would be right to quickly assume her interest in you in particular is similar to the interest she has in that one stain on the bar wall which one could almost swear has actually been dented by her gaze. Talk as she might, those that listen might be given the impression that her words flow only because gravity pitifully pulled them out. Though she takes insults seriously, any anger she has seems to dissipate with the energy that it takes her to frown. A frequent drinker and loiterer, her aloof activity belies a responsible lifestyle marked by regiment and regularity. Get up, do work, and then relax. If someone asks her, she'll deviate, and seem no worse for wear if chores go undone, but will always make up for lost time with greater working vigor, despite the total lack of energy she exhibits. A gentleness comes through when it comes to animals, and is prone to talking to them no matter how stupid the beast be. Overall, a woman who looks like the only shits they take or give are the ones she lays herself. Bio That's the essence of a farm... Grow, die, grow die... Over and over. It's a short cycle forever. As long as the seasons. Like most in the kingdom, Tempe was destined to merely inherit her family's already-established line of work. For her, that meant raising and caring for earth dragons to sell. It was tough, rigorous work for a young girl like herself, but she ultimately took towards it like any other aimless child with no hope of picking up another craft. In those early years, it was all she had come to know. The mediocrity of her life's story was amended, at least in part, by her exceptional ability to connect with animals. She was no fairy princess, though, and the empathy amounted at best to a general sense of the thoughts in animals' heads, and likewise the ability to express herself to them in a similar manner. But... it was at least a diversion from the monotony of a common farm girl. With a large farm on the outskirts of the city, the threat of hungry predators was a constant. Oftentimes tasked with supervising their herds over large swathes of land, Tempe alone could not stand a chance against some of the craftier carnivores that prowled about, especially at night. Plan after hatched plan, two particular carnivorous earth dragons always eluded her capture and her blade. One night, however, she herself ended up the apparent target of the predatory pair. At the last moment, her Divine Protection seemed to have saved her; the creatures felt a twang of pity, or perhaps mercy, and let her live. Over the years following, Tempe managed to reign the two in to becoming practical 'friends' to the farm. In return for safety and never having to hunt again, they in turn protected the farm far better than Tempe alone ever could. The two dragons, which Tempe had come to name "Bag" and "Grab", grew closer and closer to her, until their very presence had become like bound spirits to her own soul. Since then, Tempe has taken over as the head manager of the Dentali-Priestella Stables, a city-bound satellite building to her family farm, selling earth dragon mounts and workbeasts to the urbanites living there. Of course, with a considerable amount of money for her age and profession, she debates trying something else, though has no idea how to even start, whatever "it" may be... Magics Abstract Magics Divine Protection - Beastwhisper Not true animal-tongue, Tempe is able to reflect her generalized emotions telepathically to other creatures, and they to her. She cannot explicitly convey commands to an animal, but can still give an idea to them about what it is she's thinking and feeling. Similarly, she can understand what an animal is feeling or thinking. Extra
