Ethan was born a human boy to a wealthy human family, cared for by a stay-at-home mom and a successful anesthesiologist dad.  He studied hard, hoping to become a doctor himself one day, however a violent car accident robbed him of that dream forever.  When he woke up, Ethan found both his father and his eyesight were gone.  He'd been dead himself for a few minutes before he was miraculously resuscitated, and since then he's experienced a disconnect between his consciousness and his physical body.  Now that he is a supernatural, he considers himself forcefully involved in the silent war against hunters.
