Mostly through influential parents and a life plan that is older than they are. They become great scientists, diplomates or glorious warriors. Sometimes though, destiny blesses an ordinary child on an ordinary world. Harya was never special. It wasn't the first human colony, nor one the furthest or the closest to earth. It doesn't have an overabundance of resources nor a true stunning natural beauty that cannot be found elsewhere. It was so insignificant that not even the Collectors thought about attacking it. In fact, the only moment the place was threatened was when the Reapers attacked and the evacuation happened swiftly. On this seemingly calm, average planet a boy was born. David Fletchers. Born from two biotic parents, he too would have obvious biotic powers. But it went further than that. As a kid he was intrigued by the Collectors and the Protheans. Especially their history of biotics. When he was old enough, David went to Grissom Academy and participate in the Ascension Project. It was renewed after the Reaper War as its effectiveness was proven time and time again during said War. He excelled in his biotic mastery and many other courses. Though he failed several technological classes. Never the less, he was a clear prodigy when it came to biotics. While maybe not a great leader, he was definitely a great fighter. This earned him a special right: to participate in the Thessia College Exchange Program (or TCEP). David, at age 19, travelled to Thessia and was utterly stunned by its beauty. He stayed there for a year, soaking up the Asari knowledge and culture. Even though the Ascension project kept its civil side, it also carries its legacy from the Reaper War. When the students joined the war effort and created a makeshift company. With little real military training, the students turned soldiers proved to be very effective in combat. Especially as they rained black matter death upon the battlefield. After the war, the company became official and was named the 86th company. Which specialized in biotic warfare. After his graduation it just felt natural to enter this company. The 86th was now often deployed on search & destroy missions in lawless space, on the fringe of Alliance space. Batarians slavers and pirates, despite their drop in population, began their slave trade once again some fifty years ago. As their previous generations did, they hid on asteroid bases or uncolonized planets. This meant that whoever chased them, had to adapt to a multitude of environments. The 86th brought a lethal combination of constant counter-guerrilla warfare and immense displays of power to destroy any hide-out found. It got so bad for the slavers that they hired Blood Pack mercenaries in an attempt to fight back against the 86th. The 86th and especially David’s squad wasn’t afraid at all. This lead to a rather unfortunate incident between David, a charging Krogan and a concrete wall. Even though large parts of the mercenaries were neutralized, David had to rotate out with several broken ribs, a broken arm and a fractured femur. He did make a full recovery, yet opted not to rejoin the 86th. Instead he applied for C-Sec. Before he could join though, the Human Ambassador found him and his track record, especially the exchange program with Thessia intriguing to say the least. Quickly realizing the diplomatic advantage he could get from it, he appointed David to his personal security detail. Yet the shrewd man gave him plenty of time to maintain his close relationship with the many Asari from his College of Thessia days. Personality: Smart, capable and somewhat charismatic, David feels at home amongst the higher echelons of society. Especially during his tenure at Thessia College he developed a refined sense of beauty. On top of that, his military service added a healthy respect for power. As well as a fair dose of discipline in his otherwise loosely controlled life. Unlike men who served, David does not feel odd or out of place amongst the Citadel’s diplomates. In fact, he will actively engage in political and cultural discussions. This, sadly, has made him quite snobbish. David certainly feels that, in an social setting, he is better than most of C-Sec. Though that sense of superiority quickly vanishes when battle erupts. In combat only power matters and this he knows. When ready to fight, David is quite different from his social self. He’s quiet and waits for his orders. Barely questions them and will do everything to fulfill the order. His loyalty and ability cannot be questioned here. Though he won’t often show initiative beyond his given orders.
Still a bit of a WIP. I want to expand the personality section.
