While many believe the dwarf to be incredibly slow and clunky at first glance, and they're not wrong to think this, he's actually rather agile and quick on his feet in small concentrated bursts even while carrying his heavy arsenal. Tor can use this stereotype to his advantage, often pretending to fit the description whilst observing the opponent's movement on the defensive. His shield is definitely strong enough to deflect most attacks. Once he feels like he knows how his opponent fights, the dwarf goes on a brutal offensive, using his raw power and speed to catch his opponent off guard. Even his magical affinity for lightning also helps him gain a slight advantage in strictly melee battles.
Strengths:
Tor's balanced roles allow him to easily switch from defensive to offensive roles depending on the situation. His dwarven heritage allows him to tank more hits than the average human, making him incredibly resistant to physical attacks. This is amplified significantly when using his massive shield, which can block most forms of physical and magical projectile attacks. His hammer, Mjölnir The Mighty, is also strong against armored opponents, however it's ability to conjure up lightning attacks makes it even deadlier as lightning can conduct onto most metallic surfaces, effectively shocking the person from the inside. This also makes Tor immune to lightning in general.
Weaknesses:
While Tor is known to be quick and agile, this is true when he's only wielding his warhammer and even then it's only for short rapid bursts to finish the job. Once he starts using his shield, his speed is greatly diminished and he relies on its size and durability to protect him. While he does wear light armor plating, his midriff and lower back are greatly exposed as a consequence for mobility, making it a prime target for faster opponents to take advantage of. In addition, despite his immunity to lightning magic, Tor is otherwise weak to magical attacks in general. His short stature also hinders him from normally reaching high spaces, in which he'd need assistance in order to get to said places. However, since his race is incredibly rare amongst the humans, he is known to gain some curious eyes on him by the local townsfolk, which usually do not mind his presence since he's more human than monster. Most of his fame came from the people who actually played the game, not from NPCs themselves, as no one else even bats an eye at him for the most part.
Personality:
Tor is an adventurous dwarf, who always puts a jolly attitude wherever he goes. In fact, he's always been curious about the world around him. He has seen many things during his travels from kingdom to kingdom, from peaceful utopias to harsh realities, all of which he keeps archived in his trusty map. He is also one that loves to retain knowledge, usually on the places he goes and of the creatures he encounters on the way, and is very generous when socializing with others, no matter the race. He also has a merry affection for food and alcohol, as well as the decent ability to forge armors of any material he can get his hands on. He also has the constant itch for battle, always wanting to explore a deep, dark, dungeon or to face a champion of a local arena.
Bio:
Erik Fredriksen was born in Stockholm, Sweden and was in his early-thirties when he started playing YGGDRASIL. He was considered to be a well-trended hipster, often wearing flannel and average kahkis, as well as sporting a grey beanie on his head and holding a cup of black coffee in his hand. He even sported a thick beard in which he swore to only cut it once every five years. Prior to picking up the game, he was one of the head programers for a swedish video game company known as IceBerg Studios. The most famous games he helped worked on were often RPG-styled fantasy simulators, which included RuneMiners, The Adventurists and the Hammer Of War series. He also helped with several indie games, such as The Dark Forge and Isle Of Wulves regarding technical issues and coding. Overall, Erik was well-received by the fans and they applaud his hard and honest work, especially in a world where disappointment is considered the norm in many video game companies. Erik's character, Tor Magnus III, was inspired by many fantasy games and movies he watched as a kid. He played Runescape when he was a young lad and took a liking to the dwarven faction. This was also amplified by his love for the Lord Of The Ring Trilogy. Thus when he discovered that YGGDRASIL had a dwarven faction, he immediately created a dwarven character and joined the dwarven guild "Axe-Force", which concentrated on exploration and adventure. Many players had mentioned how he was a pretty chill guy and how he was quite generous to them. He and his guild often explored the in-game universe and sought out for dungeons and arena matches whenever and wherever they could. One of the arena matches even rewarded him with the powerful legendary warhammer, Mjölnir The Mighty, and the shield, Svallin the Stalwart. These weapons helped him significantly in beating several extremely hard event bosses, only winning just by the hair on his beard. He became a sort of local hero amongst the dwarven race. In addition, he also discovered several ways to break through several portions of the map and access locations where he wasn't really supposed to be. When the shutdown was announced, Erik said a tearful good-bye to his fellow guild-mates. He had been playing the game for a good six-years by that time and it was hard for him to consider leaving. Yet as he takes one last look at the game world, he suddenly realizes that he couldn't log off. He's stuck in this game. Now alone without his fellow guildmates, Erik embraced his character full-heartedly as he walks by his lonesome, still looking for new lands to explore. For there is always an adventure upon every corner... Sacrificing mobility, she makes up for it with incredible range as an artillery support class. She often stays far in the back, away from the enemy, and fires at her opponents from a safe and secure distance. She'll use her camouflage ability to mask her initial position before revealing herself as soon as her cannon fires, and then attempt to stealthily move to another firing location and start the process again. If the enemy gets too close, she'll either back up, use the cannon as a big ole' bludgeon, or simply retreat.
Strengths:
Bethesda's cannon is capable in packing an extreme wallop from long range, dealing massive amounts of damage to those unfortunate enough to be in her direct firing range. She can load her cannon up with various different ammunition rounds at a significantly quick pace, ready to fire within seconds of exchange. She is also capable of camouflaging her presence, allowing her to blend in with the environment around her up until the very point she fires her weapon. In addition, she is also extremely good in mathematically pointing out the range between her and her opponent, allowing her shots to be rather accurate more times than not. Bethesda is also known to be good in crafting and fixing devices.
Weaknesses:
Bethesda cannot fight in close quarter combat to save her life. While she does have a dagger in case of an absolute emergency, and while she can definitely try to whack you with the massive cannon, once you get close to her and avoid her fire, she's basically defenseless. As a support class, she needs the support of her allies to distract the enemy, while she prepares to bombard the enemy. Her camouflage ability is well suited in masking her physical presence, however once she fires, her presence will be recognized quickly and she'll have to reposition to a new location quickly before the enemy has time to attack her. Her cannon also makes her incredibly slow movement wise, only allowing her to move in very short and quick bursts when repositioning. This occasionally leads to her making clumsy movements, often tripping over her own footing or over her massive cannon, making her even more vulnerable to attack. And while she can turn nearly on a dime, she has trouble aiming at super-fast and agile opponents. In short, Bethesda is a glass-cannon. She is powerful when dishing out damage, but extremely weak in melee combat and can be countered by quick opponents. Yet her maximum potential seems to be farther out of reach due to clumsy mishaps that attempt to sabotage her hopes and dreams. This, casted with the fact that she relies on peoples to protect her, often makes her believe she is a burden to her teammates. However, despite this all, Bethesda does everything and anything to make it through the next day and to acknowledge herself as a team player.
Bio/Lore:
Charlotte Rosenberg was born in Lyon, France and was in her early-twenties when she started playing YGGDRASIL. She was a fair looking girl, with straight, long, black hair, hazelnut eyes, and rather palish skin, who often spoke in a soft voice. Prior to playing, she was an auto engineer working for her local repair shop which was only a kilometer away from her house. She was always fond in tinkering with mechanics and had wanted such a job since she was twelve. She was generally well-liked, as most of her co-workers considered her to be a very nice and always hard-working, although many have stated her to be rather clumsy at times. She'd often trip on materials left on the floor or bang her head on the side of the car when getting up. It wouldn't be common to find her with a band-aid or two on her head. Charlotte heard about YGGDRASIL from her ex-boyfriend, who was virtually addicted to it when they were dating. At first, she didn't care much for it, thinking that it was a waste of time. However, a year after he left, she overheard some of her colleagues talking about the game and how the crafting mechanic was rather advanced. Curious, she gave the game a try at her friend's house and soon became very fond of the game. So she bought the game herself and started playing, calling her persona "Bethesda". She'd became familiar with the crafting mechanic and joined a crafter's guild to experiment in creating and fixing all sorts of devices and vehicles. It was much like her real life job, but much more fun! Now Charlotte wasn't much of a fighter, but she did train in ranged combat with bows and crossbows and became rather sufficient with them. One day, she saw a limited time siege event, where the attackers must break through a heavily fortified castle and kill the king upon his throne. The winning team would get a prize based on their performance in battle, with the top scoring players gaining super legendary weapons. So Charlotte decided to join, having taken interest in becoming a cannoneer. Because if there's one thing she secretly likes, they are things that go boom. Despite the clumsiness she often aspired, she was able to get some major lucky hits on the castle's major defenses and was responsible for breaching a hole in their defenses. Most of these shots were either based on pure luck or accidental, yet somehow she was one of the top three players that scored the most damage. As a reward for her efforts, she was given the legendary Colossus Cannon, which she has been using ever since. She eventually found herself in the guild "De Ordine Imperii" and serves as a ranged support class unit, even after the shutdown had commenced.
