So much interest in such a short time. If these numbers remain stable, I may have the main thread ready to go live later today.
I'm cautiously interested, but have questions: How will we interact? Are we a team in Bullet Break? Enemies? A clan/guild/whatever? There is no "Oh no we are trapped" aspect to this, correct? I assume not, since it wasn't mentioned, but since SAO is unfortunately super popular, I still wanna ask. What will we be doing? I assume Bullet Break is the main thing we're concerned with, and winning it is the end-goal of the roleplay? But... how? Do we fight other Players who are NPCs? Do we fight actual NPCs? Do we do something else? It wasn't really clear to me.
For convenience, the tournament will be team-based, thought the numbers of each team will be decided based on the number of players we have when the RP begins. As for previous knowledge and interactions between PCs, that's up for any particular character, if you want to know one another, or be part of the same guild, that makes the interactions even more interesting but is not a requirement. Other than that, the first arc of the RP will be confined to the tournament grounds, so interactions are bound to happen sooner rather than later. For the time being, there's no plan to have a trapped in the game scenario in this story. The first arc will be focused on the tournament, with bits of mystery added in, but you don't need to worry about in-game deaths becoming real-world deaths or anything like this. We aren't following this clichĂȘ road, yet. I addressed most of this last question in the first answer, but on the issue of NPCs, it'll be NPC Players. After the RP beings, I'll add a few NPC Players to round the numbers. Anyone who gets eliminated before the end of the 1st arc can go do any other activities until the competition is over.
Very interested, but how do the specs work? I'm assuming The CS will list out the abilities. I also hope its not a problem that I didn't watch much of sao II lol
Providing a complete list would be a daunting task since the list is supposed to be very long. Think of them more like as improvements to your characters parameters, or combat techniques, than special powers. A few examples could be: - Improved Speed: Improves your character's movement speed. Can be taken multiple times. - Improved Reflexes: Improves your character's reaction time. Can be taken multiple times. - Improved Strength: Improves your character's strength, allowing them to carry heavier loads, deal more damage with melee attacks and bows, etc. Can be taken multiple times. - Guts: Once every 24 hours, your character can survive one attack that would otherwise kill them, with 10% hit points regardless of how many they had before the attack. Can be taken multiple times, but it doesn't allow for more than one use within the same day. Instead, it'll increase the regained hit points by 10% for each extra time you select this spec. - Far Shot: The maximum range of your ranged attacks is improved. Can be taken multiple times. - Fast Aim: You can aim your attacks faster. - Standing Shot: You can shoot heavy weaponry (anti-materiel rifles, rocket launchers, etc.) while standing without any penalties to your accuracy. - Improved hand-to-hand Combat, etc... I hope this is enough to give you an idea of what the Specs are supposed to do. Like I said, there will be more examples in the main thread, in case you are still curious.
