If the thread is there to spark sharing and discussion, then Off Topic may be your best bet. The Gallery tends to be the quiet section where people willshare their own written work or art requests, but I wouldn't say the traffic there would aid in something like a music thread.

In truth, since the forum is designed mostly for written literature it is hard to say where a music thread would best be served.
