The newcomers had been introduced and most people were recuperating from the trial; a trial with a heavy hit. Not only did they lose a doctor, they lost a brother. As expected, it took a toll, as every death before did; yet at this rate it wouldn’t be long before there was nothing left to take. Even from people like Max, one of the most upstanding and just individuals, could death take a piece of his mind. As he stood up from his bed once more, the effects of this could be seen. Where there was once a noble and confident fellow stepping outside into the world, a brooding dead-serious man now walked the hallways of Axis-Mundi. As he passed the break-room on the first floor, he couldn’t help but notice the infinites trying their hardest to overcome their situation. They choose to keep going and endure the pain, but there was something innately wrong with that. This would keep going, and for every day they endured another would always come. There was no enduring this; it wasn’t a game of attrition or survival. There was a time limit, and Felix’s death taught this to Max. If they didn’t find a way to escape soon, they would never; with those thoughts, Max made his way to the cave; on his way however, the sound of music drew him in. It reminded him of the party, and of his brothers beautiful display. As he got closer though, he stopped dead in his tracks, they were Alice and Ice talking with…one of the new kids. Before any could spot him, Max swiftly moved behind a wall next to the door and kept listening. Most of it was uninteresting chatter, but one thing certainly wasn’t…Alice had been talking to Parker behind all their backs, and discussed something of utmost interest. It would require more looking into in the meeting. But then the new kid suddenly decided to leave the room, and it forced Max to leave unseen as well. Whatever conversation came after was not within his earshot, as he was now getting in position in the cave, where a faithful meeting would take place soon enough.
