Well Kuro okayed a Gauntlet mounted flamethrower on our PM, so I imagine Exotic is anything unconventional. There [i]are[/i] energy weapons here, after all, so the limits are to a degre dominated by your own creativity. 

I'd hazard to guess that grenades thrown by hand could be lumped into a general Throwing Weapon catagory, while Grenade and Rocket Launchers are there own weapons.
