[@ArmorPlated] The idea was that the mercs are being well-equipped to handle situuations and that they're not sending an army because that could potentially feed the enemy.  Risk VS Reward kind of thinking behind that.  It's not that you guys are The Plan.  You are working TO the plan, to more directly attack the threat and to make it possible for a full-scale annihilation of the enemy to occur.
