Up until High School they had a close relationship and often mused over the future. However, Góre had no interest in medicine and had other plans for his life so they haven’t been in much contact since. Despite this Góre considers Darien his closest friend nonetheless and finds the wedding as an interesting avenue to “vet” the would-be people that Darien trusts.
    Appearance
Standing at around six foot even, Jonathan Górecka is above the bog standard of others. Góre isn’t one to slouch, though he does oftentimes have a sort of smug demeanor even when he’s not attempting to be glib – perhaps it’s just something that is part of him. Though he doesn’t mind all that much. He’s a lawyer; he expects people to presume he’s the devil incarnate. His hair is cut short, sometimes buzzed with a facial appearance that is very rarely clean-shaven. His eyes are a brown color and his complexion tends to be tanned at best.
Personality
Jonathan Górecka has always been sarcastic, defiant, and impulsive. Over the years it’s gotten him into trouble, but it has also allowed him to be successful as an attorney since he came out of Harvard with head held high. Though really a lot of his pride in accomplishing success at Harvard was to look back to his father in a smug sense of victory. His only regret was not relishing in it sooner. That energy would be something he would take with him as he began his very first days as an attorney, a reminder to motivate him forward. But despite him trying to use his father’s disdainful words for his benefit they would always continue to echo in the back of his mind, making him second guess himself, and wonder what exactly it was what it his father wanted from him and why he had stated those words to him when he was young; why he had told him he would never amount to anything; how he was poison to everyone and everything around him. He would never get to confront his father for an answer. He died during Góre’s first year away from home. In many ways Patryk Górecka is a ghost that continues to haunt him. Beyond his personal demon, Góre is well-attuned to the mannerisms of the high profile attorney he is becoming. He’s charismatic, strong-willed, and he resonates well with people for his approach. He knows how to make an audience move and for a man who has to compel a judge and jury it’s a very good skillset to have. Away from the courtroom and offices, Góre surrounds himself with alcohol and one-minute flings, a testament to his self-destructive personality and the fact that he hasn’t found anyone that can keep his mind grounded for more than an hour. Meeting that person isn’t important to him at the current point in time as he’s still trying to continue to chase the ghost of his late father in hopes that he can brag to an empty graveyard on how he did actually amount to something. But maybe that someone is out there who will be able to distract him for longer than one minute. He isn’t too confident that person exists, especially at a wedding.
Upbringing Synopsis
Jonathan is the youngest and only surviving son of Patryk Górecka and Dorothy Hughes. Born into wealth and comfort, Góre has had to deal with being the second youngest of a litter that were expected to live up to their father’s whims. Everything was measured in statistics and achievements and when things were not “appropriate” their father used discipline as an appropriate response. This only got progressively worse when Góre began acting out following a messy divorce between his parents when he was nine years old and his eldest brother, Alexander, fell into drugs only two years later and began distancing himself from the family until he was found limp from a drug overdose at eighteen years old. Góre was starting to see his family fall apart at the seams and his father didn’t care. The first time he confronted his father he was thrown into a china cabinet. The irony to that situation was that the violence his father showed to him wasn’t “discipline” to him; Góre’s young mind saw it as a challenge and a way to actually get his father to act like a real person with actual emotions. He continued to push back every chance he got. By the time he was a senior in high school his relationship with his father had gotten exponentially worse and his blatant disregard for just about everything had reached a breaking point. On a Christmas evening in 2008, his father looked at him in a drunken stupor and told him exactly what he thought of him – how he had been a mistake and how he would never amount to a goddamn thing in his life and that if he had it his way it would’ve been better if he died with Alexander. It would be an event that Góre would not be able to shake for the rest of his life. It would be the last time his father talked with him before his death fourteen months later. Góre’s biggest regret is that his father and him would never be able to sort out their issues and that he could never prove him wrong and see the look on his face. It’s been a decade plus since and Góre doesn’t exactly have a name on his door yet, but he’s finished law school and made strides as an attorney. He’s trying to take his life one step at a time but there’s been a few differing results in if he’s doing it right. Perhaps taking some time to attend his best friend’s wedding will give him some much needed “rest time” to reflect.
Extra! Extra!
Logan Marshall Green | #CECB00 Góre was born and raised in New York City. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California. The Górecka Family is rather large – though Góre’s two elder brothers are sitting six feet under. Alexander died in 2001 of a drug overdose and Matthew died in a car accident in 2012. Góre’s mother and four sisters are still alive, a testament to the maternal side of the family’s luck. A list of his known siblings include:

[sub]Samantha Górecka 1976- Tiffany Górecka 1976- Alexander Górecka 1983 - 2001 Matthew Górecka 1987 - 2012 Jennifer Górecka 1994-[/sub]

Góre self-identifies as a “functional alcoholic”. Sometimes the jokes seem a little bit too real. He’s known to be a stupid drunk, but never a violent one. His sister Samantha runs the family business (investment banking) while his remaining siblings have sorted out into less traditional careers. Tiffany is a New York-based politician and Jennifer is in college studying medicine. They meet once a year for Thanksgiving because Christmas is way too awkward. He drives a 2017 BMW 3-Series Sedan.
