This is pretty standard of the Pre-Discord days.

I completely forgot how healthy it was to not have a discord and just use the thread. While the OOC has a [i]lot[/i] of shit in it, it promotes discussion which encourages posts.

Don't forget the 125 IC posts in 15 days too. I think it's a good call by the GMs to have the season be only till September. By then I imagine the IC will be starting to slow down, then by creating something new you have the 'Fresh Thread' and 'Fresh Players' factors to help it along.
