It's a [i]very[/i] vague concept, but basically, my character is a mercenary from a space colony that is, while still in tact, VERY heavily damaged due to a space pirate attack that happened while he was a teenager. The inhabitants, while human, are of a culture that has almost been completely wiped out. They have their own language, customs...everything. Lot of reliance on robots and the like, too. Think something along the lines of the Al Bhed from Final Fantasy X.
