It sounds like there are multiple ways of getting that door open, all of which are completely valid, so charge (or don't) to your heart's content. xD

Just so you're not all hanging on a post from me:

The ketchup and mustard do not disappear, but spatter against the decaying door. Any PC who enters the decayed area, like Jill, will not disappear. No guarantees on NPCs though.
