PLEASE tell me you can play as a dinosaur (ik it says human but still). If you can, I shall loose my shit and make something cool. (And no not simply a T-Rex or Raptor - but something unique)
I would prefer everyone to be human. That being said, I won't stop anyone from having something to do with a dinosaur (within reason). As of right now, I'm thinking of my own character being like a falconer, training an Archaeopteryx or some other feathered bird-like dinosaur.
I have a few questions tho: is the apocalypse solely due to dinosaurs, or is their something bigger at play? i.e. massive power outage/planned apocalypse are the dinosaurs giant, featherless monsters a la jurassic park or calm, aggressive animals like in real life? Either way is cool, but I'm wondering.
The apocalypse is mainly due to the sudden appearance of dinosaurs. You'd have them wrecking havoc on civilization, mainly due to the surprise effect. Dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 million years and now they're suddenly in a "lost world," confused and stressed by the change in the surrounding area. I imagine there would be power outages and other aspects of an apocalypse due to neglect caused by the forced departure of civilian workers, and/or any battles that might take place between military vs. dinosaurs. Someone has to protect the civilians from those carnivores, after all. There might even be those like the DPG in JW:FK, who would be trying to protect the dinosaurs and, as a result, gather information from a living creature rather than fossilized bone. In regards to your other question, I would imagine the latter. I'm a sucker for the Jurassic franchise, but even I know that the Velociraptors in the franchise aren't true Velociraptors even with frog DNA, being more along the lines of Deinonychus, and were also feathered. However, since the world of Dinosaurs is ever changing (like the T.Rex being a scavenger or hunter debate), I may rely on the Jurassic franchise somewhat since it exists as a simplified platform for some species, barely changing from film to film. Plus, it might help with writing dinosaur and human interaction.
