"That's the most terrifying thing that's ever happened to you?" The girl darted across the stones after having released the griffin from its restraints; the beast, disheveled and bloody, limped behind her. The girl's hair was afly, her hood shoved down to her shoulders, her bright blue eyes wide and livid as she stared at Elliot. "Is living in sunlight such a comfort, then!"
Elliot reflected on her question, and as soon as he thought of the plague that had torn through his homeland his expression darkened. While it had not caused a spike in his adrenaline like this incident the plague certainly was more terrifying than his most recent experience. Even so, having experienced what he just went through it was quite close. If there were worse things as she implied then he truly worried for his well being. He closed his eyes and exhaled heavily. He quietly listened to the pair converse about him and the situation. He did not blame the girl for feeling the way she did, but he appreciated the level-headed mentality of the boy. He reopened his eyes as soon as Fang called his name. He seemed to have a choice. He could come with Fang, walk with the unhappy Wisp, or he could leave the both of them to go on his own to find the others. He could come up with reasons for each one, although he was not particularly attached to any of them. Everyone he really knew and cared about had died. If he went to find the others all that he would be with were strangers from the old world. Elliot had not forgotten his journal. He wanted it back, however right now he needed to learn as much as he could about this new land. Clearly being this so-called lightborn meant something significant. He needed to learn about this. He needed to learn about the history of this new land. He would not let himself repeat the same mistake as he did with the obelisk. He felt the god was more an enemy than anything else, and it was his responsibility that he was now free and roaming this land. He wondered what else the Fates had in store. He decided he would take a neutral stance for now. The error of getting involved broke his historian ways. He took Fang's hand and climbed onto the griffin. "Thank you. I've never flown before, what do I need to do?" Elliot could not wait to find a safe place to lay down and rest. After everything that just happened he needed some time to recover from his injuries. He also wanted to take the time to ask questions and learn as much as he could. "I would like to know everything you know about 'lightborn' I have never heard about it before."
