No Sicilian can refuse a request on the day of his daughter's wedding. This is not actually true, but enough people believe it that it might as well be. And Paul Castiglione, the father of the bride and unquestioned ruler of the Philadelphia underworld, is feeling generous today. The lavish wedding happening today is truly a huge event. With Lisa Castiglione marrying socialite Henry North, it could be nothing less. The guest list is not limited to just the friends and family of the couple, some of the wealthiest people in the city. Some of the guests are less respectable- nearly every made member and associate of the Castiglione crime family have turned out to show their respect. Delegates from the mafia families of other cities have arrived from New York, Ohio, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, even as far away as California. The gangsters in attendance aren't limited to Sicilians, either- invitations were sent to leaders of Philadelphia's bikers, Chinese, Polish, Jamaican, Irish, Greek, and African-American sets, among others. Of course, such a gathering attracts the attention of the uninvited, the curious, the press, the law enforcement officials hoping to find some useful information. And of course, a man like Paul Castiglione doesn't make his way to the top without making a few enemies. . . So, the general idea here is that a huge number of organized crime figures have gathered for a wedding. This is an ideal time for them to make back-room deals, deliver threats, ask for favors, and so on. While we're at it, the wedding has of course attracted outside attention- it could be fun to play as a federal agent, a journalist, or maybe an old enemy hoping to settle a few scores. This RP will be set in the course of a single day and largely player-directed, so the plotline will depend on your actions. Maybe violence breaks out, maybe arrests are made, maybe everyone just enjoys a nice wedding and goes home. It's up to you, so I'm looking for engaged and imaginative players. I'm thinking I'll allow up to two characters per player, we'll see. Anyone interested?
