He is first and foremost competitive and aggressive, fiercely competent in his role of reconnaissance, fieldcraft, target acquisition, and defense of his principal ally, the sniper. Outspoken and direct, he often says what he means, in some cases sparing little tact and instilling much sarcasm and profanity into his speech. Often he makes an express effort to hide his own emotion beyond his profane passion, giving him a very one-sided appearance outwardly. His unpredictability and craftiness often baffles teammates and enemies alike, no doubt an inherent trait emboldened by his service as a Marine. His enjoyment is primarily derived from vices such as enjoying alcohol in free time (though he rarely lets himself get beyond slightly buzzed), smoking of cigars (favoring the most exotic he can procure), and playing card games with any teammates he can convince to play. His personal attitude toward the ADVENT is extreme distaste, usually using copious profanity whilst describing or addressing them. His own personal experience with the ADVENT beyond XCOM service is limited. His family, to his best knowledge, is alive, and besides those lost in Falcon Squad, he doesn’t have much knowledge of any friends or comrades killed by ADVENT forces. Background Profile: Lukas was born in Fort Lee, Virginia, USA to a military family on his father’s side, and a long line of medical professionals on his mother’s. His father was an instructor in the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), having formerly served in Vietnam as an EOD-specialized sapper attached to the 502nd Parachute Infantry from 1971 to 1975, and his mother was a registered nurse at the on-base clinic. His childhood was generally quiet, with both parents working on-base and himself attending schooling on-base and then eventually at a local high school. Upon reaching 17, after consultation of his parents and subsequent signing of the waiver, Lukas enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, shipping a few months later to MCRD Parris Island in South Carolina. His PFT markings were first and second class across the board, and his academics were appropriate upon graduation from the grueling 13 week basic training. Initially given the MOS of 0311 Rifleman, he was shipped to Camp Lejeune to undergo the School of Infantry, though his instructor recommended him for Scout Sniper School after exemplary performance on multiple courses. After an 8 and a half week training and another three weeks of additional prerequisite courses, he was assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). During his time with the 26th MEU(SOC), Lukas took part in two deployments, one to Iraq, and another to Afghanistan. On return from his second deployment in 2015, only a week into his leave, the preliminary attacks by the Ethereals occurred, bringing the US Armed Forces up to high alert. After another week of wasting away in a barracks, waiting for the next deployment, a recruiter for a specialized unit called the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit (XCOM) pulled aside multiple people from his own unit, including him, offering voluntary positions within. And despite the gung-ho attitude of most pulled aside, Lukas was one of the few to accept. He was immediately shipped to the XCOM HQ, forced into non-disclosure as he was hastily assigned to Falcon Squad as a spotter for the squad sniper. As for system vs freeform, I do prefer freeform, but I'll go with a system if everyone can agree on something. EDIT: And may I recommend making a discord? If not, I understand, but I just find the platform easier to use in quick communication concerning details and Q&A.
