Texting Leo [@CaptainSully][/sub]
Dustynn wasn't one for gushing over celebrities local or international, she could piece together now and again who starred in what or where she knew them from- but all of those things we're not high on her priority list. Dustynn thought Joel's face seemed familiar as she watch him fumble with the car, but she felt that way about a lot of people in Sol City. "Yeah? I figured as much." Dustynn replied to Joel's analysis of the car, her arms crossed over her chest to give her petite body a bit of heat as she continued to watch him work his magic. He was a bit on the non traditional side of things, but it came to no surprise, she was just happy it was getting done. On cue she laughed appropriately with his side comments and watched in awe as he used his drink on the car. She would definitely be doing that to one of her friends to impress them later on. As the two sat there for a moment Dustynn replied to his comment with a hint of reluctance, "I'm not trying to push off any blame, but pretty sure my Mom ran it down this morning." she motioned to the trailer, "She was the one who told me it wasn't working in the first place." she shrugged with a gentle smile, "Could have been me though, I'm human and make lots and lots of mistakes!" a laugh escaped from her lips a hand reaching over and touching the top of Joel's crossed arm briefly. After a few minutes the car spurted back to life, several thank you were exchanged as Dustynn reached into her backpack. She counted out the folded bills, it looked like it equaled to one hundred and seventeen dollars, an impressive amount but it might not have been enough to pay off the generosity of Joel this morning. Dustynn insisted he took every bit, "I'm sorry if it's not enough, but it's all I have. I can get the rest later, or if this can cover the trouble I will be forever in your debt Joel." her eyes matched his, deep in her sincerity. The deal had been sealed, ol' reliable had been saved.
The start of the week had gone by as usual. Work. Leo. Have some fun. Work. Leo. Leo. Leo. Work and her charming man Leo had been all Dustynn had surrounded her days with lately. Work wasn't out of the usual but Leo had continued to bring a smile to the girl's face. Simple things continued to impress Dustynn; Leo would go out of his way to make sure that the young woman was treated well. Looking forward to their date at Mount Atlas, Dustynn constantly googled the area, looking at photos, videos, and reviews while she was on her break at work, babbling often to her new co-worker Marcus when she could. "You're new here, so I'll claim you as my friend before any of these other losers do. Consider it a blessing." Dustynn pointed out with a little smirk, as she moved products with Marcus from the truck outside to inside Club Aether. He was a nice boy, and picked up things pretty fast. She hoped her teasing wasn't too hard on him, as he seemed a little shy now and again. When Dustynn left work Wednesday night and Leo gave her a supply box for the upcoming storm, Dustynn couldn't help but wonder if he knew where she lived. Trailer trash. She kissed him in the parking lot after placing the box in the back of her car, thankful but worried. He knew that she had a longer drive into work, but tons of people lived in Southside and not in a dingy trailer. "Thanks baby." she commented about the supplies, wrapping her arms around him in an embrace. "Be safe Leo... if it's really bad don't try to come in either, even though I know you will anyways." she laughed, delivering him another kiss before climbing into the car and driving back towards home. On the road tears rolled down her cheeks as she wiped them away with her thumb inside the sleeve of her sweater that peeked from her leather jacket. She hated feeling this way around Leo, that she was not good enough for this relationship that was forming. Wiping her nose, she fumbled with the radio, happy that it now worked with the heater on. She thanked Joel again in her head as she got back to her home at The Palace. Pulling into the yard, Dustynn was met with flashing lights. "Fuck!" she yelled, throwing off her seatbelt and exiting the car. The police officer met her coming out while she was trying to go in, "What is going on? Is my mom okay?!" she exclaimed, trying to push her way into the trailer, the police officer put out his hand to stop the girl, "She is fine mam, we got a call for a domestic disturbance and found your mother belligerent with another man who fled the scene, we're taking her in for some testing. Do you know of any illegal substances she might be under the influence of?" Dustynn stared blankly, thinking of every nook and cranny in the trailer that had something stashed in it. "No." her tone stern and direct. The police drove away, as Dustynn cleaned up the mess inside. Some of it was from their investigation but most of it was left there from earlier in the morning. Collapsing to the couch, Dustynn pulled her legs up underneath her as she wondered what in the world was she going to do next. She pulled her silenced since work cellphone out and saw the several missed calls from her mother before slipping off her boots and laying down, not bothering to change into her pajamas. Thursday's weather wasn't a surprise but it was still an eye opener to see how much snow had fallen overnight. It was not bad enough to drive in, and Dustynn knew she to get down to her mother or the woman would absolutely lose her shit. Dressing in layers once again, Dustynn got ready for the day- bringing the supplies in that she forgot last night; sliding them in the front door before leaving towards the police station. It wasn't the first time she had done this, as she rented a locker to place her phone, keys, money, and other belongings in her pockets away. She filled out the paperwork and waited for the check in to be complete so she could visit with her mom through a heavy glass for about an hour. Before putting the phone away Dustynn read Leo's text and almost threw up. Things would be so much easier if she just tore down that brick wall and let him help her. She knew he would be here in a heartbeat if she asked. She knew this. She texted him back, a pang of remorse sitting on her heart as she hit send.
I am home right now; so comfy and cozy! Hope you're being safe, and stay nice and warm too. Wish I was there to help. Just thought about that roast you made us, and my tummy is grumbling! I'm bummed that our day at Mount Atlas got canceled this week but I guess everything happens for a reason right? Maybe i'll call you a little later. xox
A look of disgust sat on Dustynn's lips "You're an idiot." Dustynn sneered after she had made her way to the visiting room to put the germ ridden plastic phone to her ear. The hollow face of her pitiful mother looking back at her, as Kimberly explained what happened to her Wednesday night. The two kept a conversation for awhile as the snow fell peacefully outside.
