One who have eaten a Devil Fruit will have abilities, like Gomu Gomu no mi (Rubber Rubber Fruit) that allows the user to stretch, or Bara Bara no mi (Split Split Fruit) that grants the user to split into pieces. Devil Fruit users can't swim. There are 3 types of Devil Fruits.

The most common Devil Fruit, grants the user varying ranges of abilities.

Zoan fruit users can transform into animals. Usually there are 3 forms, Human Form, Half-beast form, and Beast Form.

The rarest type of Devil Fruit, and the strongest. Logias can transform into their elements, and most attacks would just phase through their bodies harmlessly. Due to obvious reasons, I'll be more stringent on Logia fruits ^^; ...

Weapons can also 'eat' Devil Fruits and have its abilities.

The Crew needs a Captain, Navigator and First Mate. Other than that there are cooks, helmsman, musician, sniper, shipwright, and [s]emergency food supply[/s] doctor. There can be more than 1 people of the any position, except for Captain.
