The comment that Fauus had made about Aviza's tone of voice couldn't have been further from the truth. She was in fact, absolutely fine with the Cabal Adepts presence, and she was sure his skills would prove greatly useful if something did manage to go wrong. "I'm fine with your presence here, Fauus. You and I both know that keeping a cold and methodical appearance while on duty is part of the extensive training we both received, in different fields of course." Now, she changed her tone of voice from the cold and impassive sound it had to a more neutral sounding tone. They were supposed to be celebrating after all, but also keeping their guard up for anything out of the ordinary or suspicious. "Andromedai, I am heading to my vantage point and will relay anything I find directly to our security channel." Andromedai nodded her head once lightly before Aviza broke step with her human friend and fellow Spectre before vanishing into the crowd that had formed around the podium in the middle of the room. After a few short moments, she reappeared once more but at the back of the massive dome structure. Now prone in a very well hidden area, she radioed the security team. "In position, I have eyes on the council, they have begun their speeches." Peering through the scope upon her Widow Sniper Rifle, she scanned the audience that was in close proximity to the councilors and the special guests who sat behind them. Andromedai was on the other side of the celebration grounds, listening to the human council member read off his own speech that had already lasted over thirty minutes. It was clear that he had a lot to say on the subject at hand, the name Shepard even came up every now and then to point out that a human was that one that ultimately stopped the reaper invasion. Andromedai silent scoffed at the comment, "Yes Commander Shepard did deliver the final blow to the Reapers but this was a galaxy wide effort, everyone should be thanked for what they did during those wars and beyond." She did figure that they had some bragging right but now was not the place or time for such a thing. What the man was doing was very inappropriate, but no one seemed to mind or even notice that he was leaning towards pro-human thanks. A few more moments would pass before the crowd would clap and cheer, showing their approval of what was said by the human council member. Both Aviza and Andromedai hated politics, and his speech had been political rather than what the celebration was focused on. Andromedai mentally face-palmed and continued her short patrol, paying very close attention to everything around her. Aviza, on the other hand, was still motionless, keeping a close eye on the council members through the scope of her Widow Sniper-Rifle. It appeared that paranoia or something else was driving the council and C-SEC to have this much security at the event, and both of the Spectres at one time or another during the event would think that they had not been given all of the information that they required for the week ahead. Switching her com over to a secure channel to talk to Andromedai in privacy, Aviza was about to mention how inappropriate the humans speech had been before the lights inside of the dome shut off, throwing it into complete pitch-black darkness. There was slight panic at first while the council tried to calm the masses of people who had gathered. The panic turned into chaos as the sound of metallic canisters could be heard hitting the ground throughout the celebration grounds. Without warning, a audible hissing could be heard coming from all over the massive room. Both Aviza and Andromedai had switched on their low-light visual enhancers, showing them the chaos that unfolded. Metallic cylinders that looked like grenades had been tossed down onto the masses without any care of where they landed. They were releasing a tear gas that was causing mass panic to erupt throughout the grounds. The doors that lead into the celebration grounds had been shut to keep out unwanted guests and those wishing to cause trouble. C-SEC's plan to keep everyone in a safe area had back-fired, giving whoever was doing this the perfect opportunity to wreck havoc. "Filters on!" said Andromedai into the open security channel, quickly scanning the environment to find any sign of where the hostiles could come from. With no movement from any hostiles, Andromedai turned to the only doors that lead out of the celebration grounds and tried to open them, they were stuck, power had been cut to the whole area. "The door is sealed due to the power being cut, we need to get everyone out of here before they suffocate or worse, I need some of you to keep guard over the council and the special guests." said Andromedai into her com. Aviza quickly responded, "I have eyes on the council and the special guests, some C-SEC are covering them with shields but that wont matter if we do not get that door open." Bending down, Andromedai picked up one of the canisters and noticed it was a human made tear-gas grenade. After tossing it away from the panicking masses, she gave out an order. "One of you come and see if you can blast the door open, I will provide covering fire if the situation turns for the worst." Andromedai backed up towards the door and scanned the top of the dome where the tear gas grenades had come from. There was movement above them now, and for those who had low-light vision enhancements, it would be easy to see. Instead of carefully entering the dome and roping down to the floor below, some Batarians, Humans, and Turians made a much more dramatic entrance using their jump-packs. As soon as she saw them, Andromedai started to open fire upon the unknown hostile group. The targets were difficult to hit at first but once she picked up on how they moved, Andromedai started to pick off hostiles once they landed upon the ground. Aviza took a more dramatic approach and used her Widow Sniper Rifle to carefully pick off targets while they were still in the air. Some spun wildly in the air after being shot and would shortly after explode, illuminating the room with a vibrant flash of light. Others, would merely fall to the ground, while those below ran away in panic. "Contact at the south-eastern side of the dome, we have more movement up above." said Aviza, quickly turning her Widow just in time to see the shot fire from another sniper rifle of equal power. The shot echoed through the dome with an ear shattering bang that caused even Andromedai to quickly look in the direction it came from. The human councilors left arm and shoulder exploded with a shower of crimson rain that fell down upon everyone within a quite a distance of the man. "Someone get that door open, I can handle the wounded councilor." Andromedai moved away from the door and charged the stage, "Cover me Aviza." before Aviza could respond, there was another loud bang from a high-powered sniper rifle. This time though, the sniper that was hiding above and who had shot the human councilor, fell from his hiding spot, falling to the ground in a grotesque bloody mess. "Already taken care of." Aviza pulled the bolt back on the rifle and readied another round, with astonishing speed. Andromedai was now next to the human councilor and had taken a knee. She had pulled the advanced medical kit from the small backpack she kept with her at all times and was tending to the severe injury upon the man. Thankfully, the human councilor had passed out rather quickly and would not feel any of the extensive external and internal work that she was carrying out.
